I read Louis' email about Trump and it's brilliant. Well done Louis for having the guts to put it out there!!! No one could say, "we didn't realise what Trump would be like", after reading that email. It's honest and spot on. "A version of national suicide", is a great description.
@duncanwallace77608 жыл бұрын
***** I see what you're saying, but saying nothing would be the safest option. Expressing a political opinion often makes people rage, so that's why I think it takes guts. I also think what he said was very well thought out. It wasn't anti republican, he was just saying 'you can do better'.
@TransparentLabyrinth8 жыл бұрын
+Duncan Wallace I was impressed that he was able to talk about Trump as a broken human being, not just a meanie jerkface monster. I do have to wonder... if more voices with clout talked about him in that way, if he would have less support. His monster status seems to give him support in a way that nothing else can; the infamy of it makes him seem more than human, which is exactly what Trump wants with his "I'm so great" narrative.
@BlaseFawn3858 жыл бұрын
+Big Iron Apparently, bashing Trump is not as popular as you say, since the guy is in the running to become president. If what you're saying was actually true, then he wouldn't be the Republican nominee. You're literally calling people out for having a different opinion.

Trump supporters tend to be from an uneducated background. In my graduate school class (at a top-10 university) you couldn't find a single Trump supporter. And we are businessmen and businesswomen, so it goes to show how little regard we have for his "great business skills." He thinks bankruptcy is a wonderful tool and has used it over and over to save the same businesses while defaulting on his creditors. Our country's bond ratings could fall if he took the helm. Not that that would be my #1 worry.
@martinfultot8 жыл бұрын
+Lisa Vega It is so difficult to believe you come from an educated background when your argument is based on an ex recto statistics concerning an incredibly tiny sample. Your graduate school class is representative of all educated people ? Hahaha. I laugh at you. Go check the stats on Trump voter's backgrounds. You'll be very surprised, and then enter denial phase. Won't change what's going to happen in November. Pathetic.

+Lazy Millennial Legit criticism. One reason is profit (to feed his family) although I think he has that handled (could be giving the profit to someone else, a friend in need/a person with illness or a charity but who knows it could just be to fund a vacation). Another reason could be that he has adopted the behaviors with the people who surrounded him (aka producers/other comedians). It might be that he is addicted to the habit of producing something/working. Or it could be that he wanted an uncensored show which isn't confined to the rules of corporations (as much).

Twilight Princess but Hitler didn't come from a rich family. He served in battle and worked his way through the ranks and brought his country, which was practically a 3rd world country after being left all debt from countries involved in ww1 (fact), into being one of the largest empires the world has ever known. Did you know that the estimations for the death toll of Native Americans killed is 100million? (much more than the holocaust, thought many were from diseases we brought rather than murder) and yet we never refer to it as genocide....As far a Trump being a good guy. I suppose you have a right to your opinion but I strongly disagree. I think he is making a mockery of US politics. The fact that someone who's never even run for any elective office, let alone won or held a position, thinks he can have the highest office in world is ridiculous and is only happening because he has money and fame and a lot of americans worship those things.

@superfly25358 жыл бұрын
kris lanc No one s saying womens' weight isn't criticized by the media, we're just making note of the double standard in which women can criticize both men and other women about their weight but if a man makes a comment on woman's weight he'll be torn to shreds by every women he knows or doesn't know, get it? Also, the modern media culture has grown to accept "thick" "full-figured" "healthy" women so there's really no one who should be offended anymore lol

+Jack Hovatter Its a master work and one that has the potential to change TV and bring the plays back to TV, much like Playhouse 90. The thing is there are talented writers out there and talented comedians, what Louis is doing though is putting writing and character study first and then making them real to the bone. This in an era of superheroes, disconnected millennials, binge watching TV shows that leave no trace of human experience. What I love about him more is that he is doing it for himself at a time when he could be making so much more money doing the formulated garbage. We are so lucky to have him.

He was right about the US right today being like the early 30s. He's also right about how he shouldn't talk about politics, because he doesn't have a clue about the shift of the political spectrum as a whole. For some reason, he's under the impression that 40 %of Americans are liberal, and that Obama is one. Wrong and wrong. We haven't even had a president on the left since Carter, and a liberal one since JFK. So no, we don't need any more presidents on the right (including Hillary) for another 15 years, if we are to have the balance Louie talks about.
@blake69108 жыл бұрын
+gantmj you sound dumber than Louis C.K. does in this video. apparently, your definition of liberal is borderline-communist. WHY DONT THEY GET VOTED IN? ....same reason why havana is a fucking shithole you moron. the two-party delusion is a big engineered stunt to make us feel like we have a say in how badly the government fucks us up the ass, something i bet youd probably enjoy. but for people with an independent brain i the triple digits, its clear that the left and the right are in bed together, drinking champagne every fucking night while laughing at idiots like yourself. why the fuck else would the entire country unite to push these PUPPETS like ted cruz and hillary clinton above trump when theyre built of lies? because its a fucking JOKE, and trump has only made it this far by calling the elite out through media on their utter bullshit. either that or youre just a genius lmaoooo
@gantmj8 жыл бұрын
blurk horver The two-party system is indeed a delusion, which is why Hillary Clinton (a moderate Republican) can run as a democrat, and someone a little more left of today's center (like Obama) is mistaken for a liberal. That's why I was talking about liberals, and not Democrats. Communism is illiberal, and cannot work. It's against human nature. Louis CK, like yourself, is unaware of the shift of ideas that are considered leftist. In the 80s, the individual healthcare mandate (part of Obamacare) was a conservative idea and position. That's just how far right we've been dragged, that a conservative position is now called liberal, and you can think liberalism is communism.
