Wonderful, ethereal and original. The nod to Pet Sounds/ Brian Wilson is overt, but so perfectly executed it's overwhelming and understated all at once.

This is a remarkable album. I just bumped into it after watching his KNOWER work on video. This album is like listening to the earliest works of Frank Zappa. Not in the style of writing, but in the maturity of execution. We have here a brilliantly talented young man who, like Zappa, is unusually adept at all aspects of composing music, and it's applied towards a wide array of styles. Grains of Sand blew me away. It's so well thought out with deeply beautiful lyrics that work perfectly with the bossa nova style. I can't tell I'm not listening to a piece written in the '60s by Jobim. And he performs all the instruments, does all the writing, and records it all himself? Louis Cole is someone to watch over the years. I'm amazed.

@henkdevries20022 жыл бұрын
I hear the beach boys influence, but havent listened to a lot of Aphex twin. Is there anything in particular by Aphex Twin that this music reminds you of? I'm trying to find out where this beautiful music could come from.
@nathheast58292 жыл бұрын
@@henkdevries2002 I guess I was thinking of the second part of You Will See, which reminds me a little of the Aphex Twin album Drukqs, also in several tracks remind me of the song Milk Man. Maybe check out the piece Alberto Balsalm and more generally the selected ambient works -- a blessing to listen to while working.

What an amazing, creative, interesting and very beautiful work! His music should be heard everywhere! It’s easy to say that someone is good or bad when you don’t know the person or her univers, but it’s only when you learn more about this person that you understand her univers. This album is amazing!

The intro to this album is a brilliant tribute to Bartok's "Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta". This guy is a serious artist. His (and Artada's) latest collaboration with WDR Big Band is just out of the stratosphere. kzbin.info_lY

I understand all the very positif comments here, but I prefer the Louis Cole of 2022! It's quite a difference in atmosphere - easy listening and a lot of close harmony - and his way of singing too. Only 'You will see' gives a glimps of what had become nowadays.
