I had a 2012 Lenovo laptop with a pretty empty harddrive and it was Dog slow with 1.5gb off DDR3 RAM. So short end of the story I didn't know they were different ddrs and i wanted to Frankenstein the 2 together.. My tech family member said it wasn't worth the disposable repair value. If you want a Laptop buy a new one. I started taking them apart and discovered experimentally. My dad,"You don't have to drive to best buy to drop them off. The trash can is in the Garage." My brother," No!" Me," Take it. I already made my point and that it was a curiousity killer. I don't need a Laptop. This is just a because I can. So what." So my brother has both of those dog gone slow machines. My desktop has a higher cpu score than either of those 2 laptops.

It's supposed to be their premium brand meant for Professionals, and that thing suffers with thermal throttling so much on a daily basis that a mid-tier MacBook starts feeling fast enough. Fans ramp up, temps reach the high 70s (Celsius), and the whole thing gets sluggish. Mind you, I need the processing power, since I'm a CS student and also code for a living!!! I cannot have my laptop throttling because they cared too much about the design (and when you start getting cheaper on the HP side of things, the build quality and longevity reduces drastically). It really boggles me why I cannot get a good freaking laptop that does all my jobs as required. I'm currently on a Dell G3, and while it's a bit bulky, this is the closest I have come to my ideal laptop!! Thinking of buying a Surface Book/Laptop next, those seem like the only legit options now...

When you spend $2k or more on a laptop, you tend to not want to replace it because when you've been sucked into the Apple cult, that means another $2k for laptop. While the most expensive laptop I've ever had was like $700 and all of mine have functioned pretty good. My most recent one was a cheap one but I upgraded the ram to Max & upgraded HDD to ssd and then put the old hdd in the spot where the DVD drive was. Runs great even with 100+ chrome tabs or more 😋

I now have a desktop pc but when i need to travel i still bring my old 2010 macbook pro because at least it is still reliable the older mbp models are great because (in my own experience) they can still be great for a lot of lightweight things, the only problem is that it is still apple and a lot of things are better replaced while they are still working

@@1495978707 Probably the next macbook pro will need wireless adapters. It won't have any port except the charging one. You would be able to connect things only wirelessly. Idk what type of 'pro' device omits some ports to make it 1.5mm thinner. Well, Think Different, as they say.

Hey louis, I doubt you'll see this but I had a dell inspiron laptop that was literally submerged in water. Thankfully the battery was already dead. I unclipped the battery from the chassis opened it up and let it dry for about a month before I even dared trying to turn it on. To my absolute delight the laptop worked. I was able to retrieve my data and it still works to this day. That was about 4 years ago.

For laptops I heavily recommend Sager. You can get one with high enough specs to run games for less than cheap Macbooks. And they are built very well.

I have an HP from that era. HP Laptops of that era had HDD defects, and some even shipped with defective motherboards. My father's old laptop had the HDD failure, but luckily not the motherboard failure so just replacing the HDD fixed it. Also now I have that laptop as I collect retro electronics, I ended up putting an SSD in it, and it works exceptionally well for older games & software and can even run Windows 10 well, similar to a low end laptop of 2020.

it's when the apple repair cannot even fix this right frist time and not fixing the fan right is bad enough as the chips will get hot and break down in time also putting the screws in the wrong place is just not done in the louis rossmann group never give the a faulty a apple computer to a apple repair store unless you like taking there for more faults to be done :-) always send it to louis rossmann group reason behind this is they do a great job and they will check for other faults and clean the mother board and put the screws in the right place. I would say louis could show apple repairs how to a great job in repairs
