He had the highest standards .His bands were always really sharp. No intro, he hits it and they are with him right away. Nobody was better!

1966 and Louie Jordan was still killing it. The man was timeless and the bridge from jazz to rhythm and blues to rock and roll.

Thanks for your post - was wondering which year this was shot. And, you're right. He was still killing it. Before I saw this video, I'd only seen LJ's videos from the late 40's and early 50's. What you said about the bridge to jazz, rhythm and blues to rock and roll, I was thinking that exact thought yesterday. However, I would only add that LJ's entire era was the bridge. For example, I was listening to a 1949 song by the Orioles, with the vocal harmonies, so resembled Doo Wop. In listening to many of the songs back then, I can understand the evolution from their music to all music that we hear today. Of course what LJ, and company, were doing originated from Negro Spirituals and the blues.
