It must have been so hard for Louis to be a man and king at the same time, he feared Philippe but was Philippe was loyal to him. Louis really loved his brother when Philippe died he is said to have said I can't believe I will never see my brother again. 💔. I literally cried you talent is amazing.

Unfortunately, Louis XIV is a man and the King. I think Louis loves his brother more than anything, but the King has to rule, to protect France and he can't show his weakness. He thinks his love for his brother is a weakness as a king. The loss of his father when he was young, the Fronde and the death of his mother were still a trauma for him and I think he is afraid of losing someone else. So he acts as the King not as Louis. I don't know if their relationship was that messy in reality, but I love them in the show. Btw, beautiful vid!

Nap 'is back The Fronde was led by Louis' Uncle against Louis' father which is why Philippe was deliberately not allowed the same education or training as Louis from an early age and never allowed any responsibilities to Philippe's frustration, so that he would never be a threat to Louis. Louis did send him off to war a couple of times but when he proved successful at warfare, Louis never allowed him to go again. The irony is that Philippe was never a danger to Louis. He was always loyal.
