Rees-Zammit departed rugby with a tremendous reputation and strike rate, scoring 38 tries in 69 appearances for Gloucester, and 14 tries in 31 Test caps for Wales, touring with the British and Irish Lions in 2021....a TRY is a TD...so 1 every other game as a pro!!!!

Matey LRZ got selected for the Lions. This is a legendary touring team that once every four years goes on your to SA, NZ or Australia. That means he was regarded as one of the best 30 or so rugby players from four different countries. And did that aged 20.

Should be exciting to see. As a 35 year fan of both sports, this is easily the best player I’ve seen cross over to the other side. Definitely going to be a learning curve; might need a season or 2 to pick it up, but don’t sleep on LRZ ~ he ain’t no joke.

Look, as an American football and rugger fan I am enjoying this. He's following a dream and I hope he makes it. I say that as a Bronco fan who has had to eat KC shit for a while now. Go LRZ! but this is not the high risk code switch that everyone seems to be saying. First, he's 21. Second, Wales is shit now. They have been great for other patches of time, but, for now, they are shit. The World Cup was last Fall. There is four years till the next WC. He has at least two years to make a go of it here. Practice squad, maybe special teams. If it's not working out in two years, he could walk on to the Wales side! Maybe you'll see Mahomes and Kelce at the Principality Stadium cheering on their mate in the 2027 Six Nations after he's lured home. Whichever way it goes he wins.

Fantastic athlete even by nfl standards but he lacks the years n years of gametime everyone else in the league has had at progressively higher levels from pee wee through high school then college. But sometimes that can open up new possibilities - want someone to throw a lateral or play off the cuff when a move breaks down? That's what rugby is - 1 set piece then everything after that is open. So who knows. It will be interesting. For sure.

we have enough now. the new additions will help the underwhelming wr's be better than last year. KC just figures it out with what they have. what we need is a rb that can get us one or two yards on the ground when we need it. Zammit?

He's legitimately not going to be a good running back, but he should be a possession receiver. You look at his highlights, and if you don't see issues for injuries, you shouldn't be a coach or teaching people about football. We are here for Mahomes to spread the field. How many receivers do you think we put on the field in a play?

1k plays! NFL is far more predictable than rugby.
@mitakon218 ай бұрын
Not bc NFL is a bigger or better game, it's not, by any stretch of the imagination, rugby is global, NFL is limited to the US. It's all about the commercial opportunity and the opportunity to make more money for him. NFL players attempting to play rugby would struggle much more than the reverse. Scrums, line outs, no pads, tackle techniques, continuity of open play. It's a new experience for Rees, but it's definitely not a step up in skill & ability, just money. NFL is not more desciplined and structured, just more stop & start. All rugby's moves are structured & require 100% discipline in execution, even in open or so called unstructured play😊
@gnd1118 ай бұрын
...NFL is a much faster skill st overall...that makes a big difference and fast twitch muscle makes a difference...that being said...Rugby players are awesome and i wish him luck! PS..my son play Rugby and Football in USA in High School and Rugby players ...whew...so many more hits and the conditioning is insane!!!
@mitakon218 ай бұрын
@@gnd111it's position specific in rugby, the outside backs a & wings in Rugby are selected based on their speed, explosive power, agility, skill, and fast twitch genes, together with their ball skills & ability to play rugby. You can be the fastest, strongest, most agile athlete on the planet and still not be a great rugby player. Many fast athletes don't cut it at rugby. You cannot compare US rugby with the best in the world, with the likes of South Africa, New Zealand, France, Ireland, Australia, and England etc. Fiji has some of the fastest, strongest athletes in the world but they don't beat the best in the world, ultimately. Albeit they are much more competitive and excellent in the 7's version of the game. Very few NFL players could make it in rugby without lots or preparation, training, and conditioning. Much more versatile, no pads, no helmets, various tackle techniques, the continuity of the game, and defensive & attacking demands of both forwards and backs😊
