One recommendation, from someone who enjoy the channel, is that you could film the upper holds when Louis is talking about those final moves and that way we could see what he's talking about instead of looking at him talking. thanks!

I love coming back to these videos even as I get better and better. I climbed my first v9 two days ago and in 10 months of climbing at that. Without all of the information and tips and such that I get out of these videos, I don't think that ever would have been possible. Thank you guys for all the amazing content and please keep it coming!!

Great video, Andrew! I have a suggestion: I think you could improve the exposure settings when filming against a bright window. Looks like you are using "continous auto exposure" (CAE). I suggest you deactivate CAE and leave it at "manual exposure time". Then you can press "one time auto exposure" (OTAE) once filming against a wall and keep the wall good looking all the video even when filming against a window. The windows then will be probably overexposed, but usually for indoor bouldering that does not matter since everything inside will still be crisp and clear. Best wishes!

Louis is just the most likeable guy ive ever seen. Such a sincere dude. ive been climbing for about 3 months now so most of the ppl at my climbing centre are much better than me. On monday there was a guy i was talking to who was a good climber but arrogant af. Louis is better than almost everyone but u never get the feeling hes talking down on ppl. And his fluid climbing style always looks like gravity is not a thing in his gym.

Cool video! Great way to study. Would be so helpful to have the visual context of seeing the entire route, especially with a Louis in frame for scale, before he launches into describing his battle plan.

Hi Louis ! Go a question on the La Sportiva Skwarma. I'm looking at buying them as it seems they are very good shoes and better for someone with a wider foot like myself. I normally wear a size 8(42 ) street shoe. How much do you think I should go down in size ? How much do they stretch ?
@AndrewMacFarlane5 жыл бұрын
Hi Wian! If it helps I've been wearing La Sportiva for years and I go down 2.5 sizes, but getting the right fit for comfort can be very individualistic. La Sportiva shoes will need to be sized down where as brands like Evolv tend to match your street shoe. If you can try a pair on before you buy then I'd recommend doing that. If you can't then go a couple sizes down. Check 'How To Choose Your Climbing Shoes' by La Sportiva on KZbin if you need more help with it. Good luck 👍

@drew13600climbers do not want proportionate muscles. Muscles not actively involved in climbing hinder you. Steroids would make climbers too muscular. As well as the fact that while steroids may help in gaining muscle tissue and muscular strength, they do not assist in tendon strength. After a certain point of muscular strength, technique and tendon strength take over. I know plenty of guys thst are natural and as physically fit strength and cardio wise as Adam Ondra. They climb V10-12. None of them can match his sheer technique, eye for the route, and tendon strength.
