LOUIS VUITTON 2023 sneak peek: LV Yayoi Kusama anniversary 23 collection - whole lot of polka dots

I share the 2023 Louis Vuitton Yayoi Kusama anniversary collection with you in this video. Louis Vuitton and the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama collaborated first in 2012 and for January 2023 they are dropping a 10th anniversary collection, that includes classic LV handbag shapes in typical Yayoi Kusame designs with polka dots and metallic studs. The collection will include Yayoi Kusama Neverfulls, the iconic Speedy, Alma BBs in episode leather and many more pieces (like the Mini Pochette, the Key pouch and other SLGs). This is just a sneak peak to the LV 2023 Yayoi Kusama collection and I did not already have high quality pictures of all Louis Vuitton 2023 bags.

I like some of these pieces, especially the Alma bb’s and some of the colorful bags. I would love an SLG from this collection but I know they will cost a fortune. By the way, the red mushroom with white dots is the one that usually has gnomes and fairies with it in pictures. It’s the “magic mushroom” that causes hallucinations. I saw a documentary about Christmas that talked about how the mushroom somehow became a part of the explanation of how Santa’s reindeer fly. True story!

Do these mushrooms grow in forrests in the US aswell? Cause they do grow in Germany 😁 I‘ve seen quite some this fall (but unfortunately no flying reindeer anywhere nearby 😂). An SLG would be a fun piece to get something from the collection - but since LV SLGs nowadays cost, what bags used to cost 😅 - I‘m going to pass

When my husband got a glance at the collection, whilst I was working on the video, he said: „looks like it‘s for the Asian market, seems somehow Japanese to me“. I thought that‘s so super interesting, since Yayoi Kusama actually is a Japanese artist - but I never would have made that connection, just from seeing bags with dots. But maybe he subconsciously knew her and her art and therfor thought of Japan 😁

Love your review and just subscribed. I've been looking to purchase a nano speedy because I don't own one. So question for you is would you pick the Kusama dots nano speedy or the regular monogram speedy? I feel like the new Kusama version gives small items a colorful twist, whereas the regular mono version is just regular and I can get that any time.

Thank you MsKitty 🥰 - I do agree, that the dots are a fun twist on small items. Maybe give it a try and see, if you can score one of the Kusama ones. If you ever decide, you want the regular one aswell, it will be way easier to get your hands on, than as if you want the Kusama one at a later point in time. Good luck 🍀
