Louis Vuitton Fleur du Désert (2022) Early Impression

Was at the LV boutique last weekend and spritzed this one on the back of my hand. I hadn't read up on it and was expecting something along the lines of the other "darker" bottle LVs, so was completely thrown off by the unexpected sweetness. Went to dinner with some friends a few hours later and my attention was definitely caught by the wafts I was getting whenever I moved my hand (in conversation) about. That dry down was so gooood. Friends noticed it too, despite having doused myself with Bracken as my SOTD earlier that day. So yeah agreed. The dry down was quite addictive if you can get past the initial sweetness. And my tolerance for sweetness is usually higher than yours! Anyway, if I see a cheap partial, I'll probably take a stab at a bottle, but can't see myself paying retail. Having said that, I'm a huge fan of Ombre Nomade and Nuit de Feu, as well as Nouveau Monde (which is a Ombre Nomade with cacao). I don't think those fall in the same category of mass pleasing to attract their clientele. In fact, I was letting my bro and his wife (who are not fragheads and were visiting) smell Ombre Nomade and you should have seen the look of disgust in their faces when it reached their noses in the air. So, not even sniffing it yet. 😁 Thanks for the initial impressions as always!

Gonna try and do a video on the more "edgy" Louis Vuitton scents... gotta score some of the juice first and I also refuse to pay retail.. LV can shove it with that 😂😂😂

Such an intelligent review! I just bought the 100ml 🥰 it’s crazy how it completely flips 30 min in and dries down to something completely different.

It is very synthetic (but not headache inducing) but still something unique in the journey along the wearing experience. I love it

I got a sample of this and at first it smells like perfume mature people wear then you’re right the dry down is pretty good. Also the scent trail is insane. I can smell it and I only did spray 1 squirt on my arm. I sort of agree with lv perfume line, they’re made to be popular and appealing to the masses but I do like some is their fragrances.

The bottle is out for this one Ramsey. Saw it at the LV boutique. They also have the hidden metallic Art Deco collection. I have stellar from that collection and I’m getting another one. The had one that was regional realease couldn’t get it in Europe or state side. It was dropped in Mid East called oud pur..maybe get a bottle through the loops 😬

I feel the same way about Louis Vuitton fragrances as you do. In fact, the entire brand is over-priced from not just perfume, but outrageous prices for purses that are mostly plastic except for perhaps the leather handle, and clothing that I would never even try on, let along buy. That being said, I do have a couple of their colognes from yesteryear that were only priced for about $120.00, not $320.00. Another excellent Ramsey rant...thank you for the entertainment and knowledge!

The clone company? I will most likely never talk about them... clones are really not my thing unless I find one that is really really really good... there is a Rasasi clone of tuscan leather I really like & Alexandria has a few Roja clones that are good.... but other than that you probably wont ever hear about Dua frags on my channel 🤷‍♂️

Strange that JCB hasn't gone the artisan route and launched his own brand like FK, Morillas, Cresp and others. Is it because he's the in-house for LV? Anyway, I've been asking around for over 5 years whether or not it was he or Morillas that perfumed Acqua di Gio, but now it seems like may have been a massive collab. Taken over by Morillas eventually with the flankers. Not that it matters to me much. He's still my favourite nose 6 years running.

Yo Bud, this is exactly what I said yesterday. I've been asking you the odd question about the Roja's and it seems to me it doesn't add up to what I'm playing with. I just made a big purchase 7 more of those 10mls that I have from the same person and the same batch, I'll email you when I get them. I've been waiting 6 weeks for him to come back from vacation and I've had to be very patient not to purchase anything else because I knew the condition of the perfume is 100% which is difficult in vintage. Hi Ram! I have a friend with severe seasonal allergies (and major trouble with perfume). Louis Vuitton is one of only 2 brands she can comfortably wear. While LV frags aren’t my jam (don’t own any), I’m happy they work for her & those with sensitivities to naturals. Personally, I have more issues with synthetics (occasionally triggering migraines). Interesting review! You do go everywhere in the fragrance world! 😀🙌👏❤️🙌

Totally agree, I recently got carried away with a fragrance and mentioned it in the comments.... should have waited for the drydown. It just collapsed and settled to that sweet cotton candy skin scent that so many do. That and the thin smokey drydown from many modern releases just bore me.

@@RamseytheRam I think that yes ,definitely on note breakdown and the couple of reviews I watched they seem right in my wheelhouse,however when I see who rates them as daring ,and maybe a little much for most noses and how the same reviewers can’t handle the real deal artisan compositions ,well ya gotta think 🤔 naw, they be western style and pretty tame ,this of course is just my opinion and speculation since I have not sniffed them ,bet ya I’m on da money though hahaha✌️

They never do sales do they... because they are trying to be seen as a true "Luxury" Brand... I notice they control the stock on the secondary market better than most brands too... there are hardly ever partials or discounted bottles on the secondary market either I noticed which means they never sell to discounters in bulk for cheaper prices either 🤔
