Man there really are some bitter people in the comments sometimes. Last week people kept saying how Louise was overscored because she wasn't in time, even though she WAS in time throughout that Charleston (I was looking at her feet the entire time and she never missed a beat). Now people are saying that she lacks passion and pointing out the tiniest things that don't even matter. I honestly think it's the anti-Clifton brigade out in full force, which I don't get because Kevin is a brilliant dancer and a wonderful teacher. But anyways, brilliant dance and Louise deserves to be top of the leaderboard this week.

Louise is great when doing slow, smooth movements. She's very graceful, and this dance really showed off that quality in her dancing. She's not so great when needing to dance at pace or with sharpness, and this dance does demand moments of sharp attack. I'd have given a 9 rather than a 10.

well we can't watch DWTS either but i know how amazing the Nicole AT was. I can't agree with you on this one though. She was shaky a couple times, i think it lacked intensity and power i places too. She didn't get that whip with the leg action you need to see in an AT from the female since her leg was so rigid and she kept looking at her feet and not at Kevin in turns/spins. It was worth 9s in my opinion but definitely not 39/40

Nice ronde in the beginning. The lamp-post is back! Whay-hey! Joking aside, it was a very accomplished performance. For once, I feel Louise has thrown her inhibitions out of the window and just allow herself to become sultry, sharp and sexy, hitting all the accents with the music when she danced this AT. The only criticism is that I would like them to keep the steps smaller and more compact, but that's just personal preference (AT is originally danced in a confined space, don't need to cover the floor as such). Lifts are creative and nicely executed. 9.5! (Edit to correct: I did not see the first ronde Louise made at the lamp post, but I was referring to the one she did when she was with Kevin in the beginning...)

Did you ever see the Argentine Tango danced by Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke on DWTS back in 2008 (I think)? I would put this one by Kevin and Louise right up with that iconic dance any day!

Lee Cox Giles Marini and Cheryl Burke in 2008? Hmm, will I dare to watch another DWTS clip? I have been stung previously with bitter disappointment when recommended by others about other couples in the past thus far... **goes to search for the clip** Edit: watched it, it was the time when the dances in DWTS was 90 seconds long (and not cheating with 60 seconds now). Not bad at all! I am impressed for a male celeb!

That final drop alone made the dance worthwhile. I can imagine it went wrong far more often than it went right in training; get it badly wrong and you'll snap a shin bone. I normally find these two good but forgettable, but this was their most memorable dance for me.

Definitely one of her more passionate dances. Being the first AT of the series is never easy but I felt she did it justice. Could have seen more power and firmness throughout, since it's still a tad loose in places. Would give it an 9, though am still on the fence between 8 and a 9.
@dylanparryowen8 жыл бұрын
This was really great. I still think whenever she's by herself, aka at the start of this dance, she doesn't seem to have the confidence she has when she's with Kevin. But probably best dance of the season so far.

Why do the BBC (and ITV) always cut out the judges comments!. STOP DOING IT. We want to watch the act and then the critique, otherwise what's the point? It's the whole premise of the show. BBC. Pull your finger out and show the complete clips.
@aerialkate8 жыл бұрын
I agree it's a bit weird. I wonder what their motive is? Perhaps they want to encourage people to watch the actual show on TV, in its entirity. Linda Kent is posting the dances with the judges comments.
@MegaClarky1238 жыл бұрын
I dance the AT socially so I know a little bit about it. Watching it on Strictly always makes me realise how little I know about the other dances, because how the AT is danced on Strictly is not what would pass for an AT usually (even a stage AT, which are usually more flamboyant and heavily choreographed). Louise's timing was great and the lifts were great and the ending was great, but in general I didn't think her legs were good at all and there was not nearly enough connection with the floor, or fluidity. (That first ronde de jamb got stuck halfway through right at the very beginning.) The backward ochos were straight up bad - she lifted her free leg off the floor much too soon and there was no disassociation of the upper body. The lunge, turn, lunge was good and it was good to see her embrace her sexiness though.

Worth 40, Sour face Craig always has to spoil the show, he thinks hes so wonderful, who's he kidding? I wish he would go back to Pluto and stay there.. Best dance of the season ,visually stunning A.T. from Louise and Kevin,he reminds me of the Great Fred Astair,both in his style and looks,a reincarnation? his choreography is always excellent and he's humble with it . Joanne Clifton is equality gifted. The judges comments should be shown, at least on marks over 35,it adds to the entertainment,especially when Bruno gets going.......see the full thing on BBC iPLAYER.
@thespb01418 жыл бұрын
I agree that it was excellent, but there was a small slip at 0:40, which is most likely why it gained a nine from Craig.
@padfootfan1238 жыл бұрын
I feel that to get 40, the dance needs to be a little more technically challenging. While good, it wasn't that good. There have been other dances that have followed this one that were better, but not marked as high. And those dances were marked fairly, meaning this one was overmarked.
