As a Louisville fan I don’t think we were looking at ND as our Super Bowl but this was definitely a big prime time game and a chance to look good in front of the nation. This was also Brohms first big home game against a top ranked team so the fans wanted to show support. We have bigger aspirations than just beating ND and they’re just a stepping stone in the bigger picture of a magical season. The UK game if UK and UofL keeps winning will be bigger than the ND game.

Notre Dame is now 2-2 all time against Louisville. Their two wins were 35-17 in 2019 and 12-7 in 2020. And I believe that 35-17 game was still a one score game in the 4th quarter. My point is that Notre Dame has never had a dominant game against Louisville (just a dominant 4th quarter in 2019). Yet Notre Dame fans seem to believe that Louisville is so far beneath them that they shouldn't have even bothered with this game - with little real world examples to back up this arrogance.

I don’t know who did the scheduling for Notre Dame but to play three night games in a row against now ranked #3 #14 #17 teams or if you want to go by ranking when played #6 #17 #25 and they’re about to play another night game against #10 USC is stupid, teams will play four ranked opponents in a season, but it’s usually spread out through the 12 game season not all at once . It is almost impossible for any team including Bama or Georgia to play that many caliber of teams that many in a row with two back to back road games at night, and win them all. It’s too many for any college team to handle unless every team they’ve played has went through the same gauntlet of schedule so your emotions and there energy level is equal. Maybe they weren’t expecting Duke and Louisville to be top 25 teams, but that said four night games in a row that’s ridiculous night game atmospheres are different than any other time it’s night time fans are more round up. I am not a ND fan I am OSU fan but I remember in 2016 OSU had to play two night games in a row at #8 Wisconsin OSU won 30-23 in OT then at PSU and lost 24-21, PSU won the big10 that year. PSU also has a bye week before the OSU game that put OSU at big disadvantage with having to play a overtime night game the week before against #8 team while Penn St rested. Back to back road night games against top 25 opponents is extremely hard to win both of them in college no matter who you are let alone Four games in a row one at home two on the road one at home. I honestly think ND will rebound and beat USC at home. USC defense is absolutely trash unless Caleb Williams does some kind of crazy heroic stuff to win it at the end.

They probably weren’t expecting to play four straight top 25 teams. But one other point name me one time that any team in any conference has played four straight night games. I do know for a fact that Ohio State has said no to night games so you can tell the networks no. I am 52 years old and I have never seen not one team play four straight night games ever. I don’t know if anyone has played three night game in a row and if they have name the team and year, they may play three or four in a season but not in a row.

Merely echoing what Pate said... there was little way we could expect 18-20 year olds (excluding Sam Hartman here) to play at a high level when fatigued. Now to a serious point though: if these guys expect to play in the NFL, they'll have to be ready to play up to 13 straight games before their bye week.

Louisville has a New Coaching Staff with the 4th Most Transfers in College Football. They just had growing pains to get through to get the team to gel AND the schedule is better than people give it credit for BUT Louisville did not have to SHOW their Whole Package until the Notre Dame game. They kept it simple for 5 games and opened it up with even more SIMPLE but Effective stuff for Notre Dame. They showed ZERO Speed Option and ZERO 2nd QB Package Stuff in the 5 previous games. Their Scout on ND was great. Plus Louisville had a CLUNKER against NC State. I'm guessing that is the game you saw. It was the QB1's Worst Game of the season (made terrible decisions that cost them at least 9 to 17 points) and the NC St Defense had the Running Game's # and bottled up their RB. Also had a TD canceled by a Bad Call and Terrible Camera Angles on the Replay that cost another 4 points (still converted a Field Goal).

Yeah, I was thinking about the ACC thing to the other day. FSU, UNC and LV don’t play each other. If they all go undefeated. I think the tie breaker for UNC and LV will probably be Duke/Miami etc. And for the tire breaker for LV and FSU will probably be Duke/Miami etc. For UNC and FSU it would probably be Clemson/Duke/Miami. All three (FSU/UNC/LV) play Duke and Miami. So think Clemson, Duke and Miami would probably be the tie breaker.

Lifelong Notre Dame fan here hats off to the cards for the win … but while you’re popping your collar and boasting about the receipts that you’re keeping, you should note the Notre Dame play that second game in a row completely dip the depleted at the wide receiver position due to injuries. No, I’m not saying that the outcome of the game would have been different, I’m just saying that it is notable the receivers that we have playing including a walk on because they were two starters down . notre dame is talented team. 3major problems: 1) is coaching, not making adjustments at half. 2) schedule fatigue 3) they dont have that deep threat on offense. which is putting way to much pressure on the defense. looking ahead; if thry can't score consistently usc will be close but they will collapse in the 4th.

UNC only plays Clemson where Louisville plays Va Tech. Everyone else on UNC conference schedule Louisville plays. Louisvilles out of conference schedule is harder with ranked notre dame and most likely ranked Kentucky. If both are undefeated along with FSU there’s absolutely no reason why UNC should get the nod.
