3:12 (モールス) you gods will give us. some faults to make us men. -シェイクスピア「アントニーとクレオパトラ」より 1:24 When a man cannot choose he ceases to be a man. -時計じかけのオレンジより 3:39 Rage, rage against the dying of the light. -Do not go gentle into that good nightより
The song is so good, honestly I was mesmerised, my eyes glued to the screen, just appreciating their wonderful vocals and the amazing composition. Another masterpiece! But the MV really lost me at first, I wasn't sure what they were getting at... until I started writing. Let's go! Of course, these are initial thoughts and the interpretation might be off, might change once I hear the drama tracks at a later date 👍 EDIT: Extra thoughts added in a reply! 0:10 Rage rage, rage against... "The dying of light" - From the poem 'Do not go gentle into that good night' by Dylan Thomas. This specific line from the poem expresses the desire to not give up while approaching death. To be noted that this poem was also used in the movie 'Interstellar', in which the main character works on plans to save mankind by transporting Earth's population to a new home planet. Before that, they must send a group of people through a wormhole across the galaxy to find out which of three planets could be mankind's new home. This seems to fit really well with the MV in which they travel through space to a new planet, which could represent their new perfect world. Sadly I haven't seen the movie so can't speak much about it but I'll try referencing it a little.. 0:40 The window forms cracks due to the stream in the room, given it's snowing outside and temperatures would be freezing. The contrast of hot and cold creates stress, and when the stress gets too much, it causes the glass to crack. This could be a metaphor for Loulou*di's mental states, where they are feeling pressured by the occurrences in their lives. 0:47 Could this be the first planet they try to create their new world in? Loulou*di's previous MVs all talk about creating a new 'perfect' world and maybe all these planet they travel to are for this purpose, to find the right place to create it. There seems to be red dust/stars, red being the colour of passion and violence. The same state that Ageha is in now, he's easily angered but full of passion. It could be each planet represents each stage the unit goes through on this journey through the HanaDoll* project. 0:55 Help, I have no idea what this liquid is supposed to be. Happy to take any thoughts ;w;/ In a way, it could be something like the flow of their lives, which gets more volatile as the MV continues and eventually starts to separate... 1:10 I really like the lyrics here! 'The more I wish to forget, why do I keep obsessing over it? Who will stop human's foolishness?' Then at 1:24, we have the quote "When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man" - A quote from A Clockwork Orange. This is also a really interesting line when it comes to Loulou*di. We see for example the number of times Ageha goes to see the President about the way things are progressing and just generally complaining and whining, wanting attention. But the President allows Ageha to do so, he doesn't get mad or scold him for it. He could be strict on him, control him to behave in the way he wants using the medical technology they have. But he doesn't. It's because he knows allowing them freewill is important. If they go on as dolls, just following instructions and behaving as ordered, they're not going to grow like a human can to reach their potential as perfect idols, the purpose of the whole project. They won't be human anymore and would be stuck in the same state always, like a doll which doesn't change form, which is not what AmagiriPro wants. That's why they're allowed to act the way they want, Ageha is doing what he wants and even potentially harming Anthos* and Mahiro because as we learn from A Clockwork Orange, inhibiting a person's free will is more evil than a person's ability to choose evil over good, this might be what AmagiriPro operates upon. 1:27 - The lyrics talk about how they're trapped in the pasts they want to throw away. They realise the darkness of the world and are being sucked into a vessel of ego. An unattainable vision. Realising this I believe is what causes the stress seen at 0:40. Going back to the planet in 0:47, could the red dust/stars around Ageha come from there? 1:32 The tree roots/vines generally symbolise having stability and strength to withstand the harshest weather conditions, and as they spread, shows how growth is necessary for sustainability and development. However, it looks like they're binding Rui - Could it be to Ageha? He's there as Ageha's anchor, to stop him from getting out of control. But maybe he's being bound by Ageha in the same way, he needs him as his purpose for being here. It could also be showing how he needs to grow more to allow him to continue being there. 1:54 Going back to Interstellar and the whole space travel in the MV, the movie also has hypersleep pods which are used to slow the ageing process of the human body and preserve its occupants before they wake up again. I think we can assume that Loulou*di wants to be able to stretch their lives out as much as they can to work towards reaching their goal of finding/creating their new perfect world, there is one for each of the members. The blooming and withering of the roses could represent their lifespans (as idols?), they're blooming now but will eventually wither - We don't see it completely die which is a good sign! Goes back to the very first quote seen at the beginning, they are fighting as they approach death. 2:28 The second planet? Looks more green than red. Just like the trees surrounding Rui in the chorus? Also, green represents rebirth, growth, peace, jealousy, and greed. Also renewal. Maybe that's the next phase Loulou*di will go through. 2:42 Three eggs, each one representing one member of the unit. The eggs are dropped violently into the water and immediately a crack can be seen (just like how Toki's flower bloomed really quickly compared to others and he's experiencing all the side effects quicker and worse than others, he's already damaged mentally). The lyrics keep repeating "Withering/dying" and just like that, the eggs break after being frozen I assume. If an egg is frozen while still in its shell, it cracks. And going back to freezing, just like in 0:40, they are breaking down from the stress of this cold world, where AmagiriPro isn't treating Loulou*di as kindly as they are Anthos*. 2:58 The lyrics talk about being tied up by fate enough to want to satisfy it. Rowing the ark and their consciouses taking a nap - A reference to the pods seen in 1:54, as they travel through space? The morse code reads: "You Gods will give us. Some faults to make us men". This line appears at the end of Shakespeare's 'Anthony and Cleopatra', and the line was used to describe Anthony after his death. He was praised and it was said that though the Gods gave Anthony faults, he was much as much as a God as a human could be. The HanaDoll* project aims to create 'perfect' idols and this line suggests that in the end, these idols can't be perfect (i)dol(l)s, they are humans and they have faults. But Loulou*di are currently the closest thing to perfect. 3:14 The red dust/stars go from red to white. Red being a colour of passion but also of anger, danger and blood, this has changed to white symbolising peace and purity. In East Asian culture, it could also represent mourning. It could be said that Ageha eventually finds peace but only after experiencing a lot of anger and violence, potentially loss too. 3:18 This time there's branches growing out of Rui. Tree branches could represent overcoming obstacles as they grow in and around any obstacles in their path. But also, the branches serve the purpose of structural support for the leaves, fruits and flowers the tree produces. It carries the water from the soil to the leaves and food from the leaves to the tree. Rui overall is the support and strength Loulou*di needs to succeed and overcome obstacles. 3:22 It just looks to me that Toki is freezing up and cracking even more from all the stress. It looks like there's frost growing, ice is the opposite of water, which symbolises life. At 3:29, he is covered in a lot more cracks than the other two members. Please help him. Then at 3:37, they reach a red danger zone. The Rage quote appears here again, suggesting they're at death's door before everything breaks. 4:00 Time goes backwards, there is a new plant growing in the snow covered world - Things have gone crazy and the lyrics ask if they're beings that were abandoned after they went down the path that leads to their ruin. Are they dirty existences? They drown and the red liquid from 0:55 gets more violent and starts to separate, like they're finally losing themselves. The singing also makes it sound like they've come across an error. 4:38 They've come across their new planet (the third planet?), where they'll create their new world. 4:48, there's a monolith behind them, which points to entities that are so powerful, they might as well be Gods compared to humans. Just like Anthony who was mentioned before. They've achieved the closest thing to perfection. But we also have someone else who reached that level already. ChiHERO, the famous one and only Legend Class idol. But he ended up dying. Does reaching perfection, their perfect world, ultimately lead to their deaths? It's an empty, barren land that they've ended up on, void of life... Earth faces destruction, Earth being their past. The monolith breaks. Could this suggest that it's not possible to break away from their pasts and be perfect idols at the same time? "I was cured...". Does being cured from their pasts and all the pain require death? So could it be that what is needed to help them from all this pain is to stop being perfect idols? They'll cure themselves of all that plagues them, including their pasts but they won't get their perfect world. ...Why did I reach that conclusion, I don't want them to stop, brain why did you come up with that-- But I want them happy too...

I have now listened to the drama tracks and I'm back to add/refine my thoughts! Beware of spoilers~ 0:10 Going back to the message behind this quote, towards the end of track 3-9, Ageha mentions to Rui that it's almost time for his wish to come true i.e. Rui wanting to see Ageha struggling as he lives and then die. Ageha is anxiously waiting for that day to come. Before he dies, he wants to leave behind the greatest song and I believe follow the same path as ChiHERO. However, he will continue to go through all kinds of injustices and absurdities before he gets there to reach the peak of being an idol, as promised with the President. He will fulfil his promises and duties first. 0:55 Don't tell me this is the tea Ageha threw at Setsuna D: Sorry, it's likely not but that thought came to mind-- 1:32 I mentioned in my last comment how Rui may be bound by Ageha. After listening to the latest tracks, I feel this is the most fitting interpretation. It was mentioned that Rui's ERP (Event-related Potential) is showing unusual patterns lately and the main thing that is throwing Rui off is Ageha's behaviour in this CD. Ageha is acting a lot more pleasant towards Rui, completely different from the harsh way he normally treats him, he's smiling and making eye-contact and even greeting him. It's really bothering and agitating him. Talk about Anthos* and Mahiro is also bothering him, he says he's indifferent towards them but is that right? Because of all that, he's also had some physical impacts. All this is why his visuals look more dishevelled this time compared to his more composed self with brushed-back hair. 2:05 We have the blooming rose than quickly writhers in the next scene. Roses do represent love and Setsuna who suggested that Ageha may have such feelings towards Mahiro (given the explanation Setsuna himself got from Kaoru about love) was instantly attacked by Ageha who I think is denying he has such feelings, thus the withering rose right after. I think he's not aware of what the feelings towards Mahiro are but he doesn't want to think of it as anything like love, which is why the two roses have different colours. The black rose being the unconscious and the white the conscious. 2:15 The furniture all out of place was basically how I (and Rui) felt about Ageha in this track. It felt wrong, like something isn't right. Generally, a dream of a pile of furniture means you need to face your feelings about someone in your life. For Rui, this could be towards Ageha and Ageha's feelings towards Mahiro? Not too sure about this one. 2:58 Going back to my original comment, I think Anthony is supposed to represent ChiHERO. In this project, everyone talks about ChiHERO after his death, we don't get flashbacks to what he was like what he was alive. As a result, we find everyone speaking positively on ChiHERO but what was he really like? 3:14 After the live, everyone went to a rehabilitation facility for a well-deserved break. While there, Ageha has a change of heart, thus his attitude towards Rui changing and this is shown through the red dust changing to white. He tells Rui that after coming here, his mind us much clearer, like he's thrown out a part of his head. In the past, it always felt like there was a siren going off in his head. Because of that, his attitude seems to has changed for the better. 3:22 Toki freezing up is almost a reflection of his heart - He's getting cold and harsh towards everything that isn't related to Ageha, Rui or Loulou*di. He doesn't like Anthos* or the President because they're getting in the way of Ageha or don't treat him like the great man he is. He's gone back to what he was like back when Loulou*di was first introduced but that may be because of the success of the live this time, in which they got through without zero irregularities and if anything, Toki and Ageha's conditions greatly improved. 4:00 I wonder if the plant sprouting in the snow and the clocks going backwards is related to what Ageha announced at the end of the CD? I think he enacted that plan without consulting with the agency or anyone and this could cause problems for the HanaDoll* Project. They're supposed to be acting according to the instructions they're given instead of moving on their own, that's not doll-like. This works with the quote found out 1:24 but it does conflict with my comments I previously put down around this quote. Throughout the MV, we have glitches which means things could go awry for them. 4:22 The lyrics ask if they're dirty existences. This line works really well with the conversation Ageha had with Rui in the art gallery, where Ageha basically tells Rui that the art gallery is a grotesque fair, a graveyard where works akin to excrement are presented. Artists are just there to present their works to the world and can't be sane, even with a flower planted in then, what with the passion they put into creating something which isn't essential to life. They keep pushing themselves to the point of destruction and Loulou*di is no different. 5:03 Part of me wonders if the comet here represents Anthos*, as they're the ones currently getting all the work and Loulou*di has not been getting any work, which in a way could cause the destruction of Loulou*di if they don't get the publicity and therefore the positive impacts to nurture their flowers. However, maybe in the same way, Anthos* is the cure for them which leads to the "I was cured..." line? Though I'm still worried that that's just linked to Ageha dying 😭 That's all I can think of for the moment! Feel free to add any of your own thoughts ✨

2:58 you gods will give us. some faults to make us men.
