Holiday Diary- Coco afraid of hornets.

Coco had a hornet in her bag where she was sleeping. The hornet flew away but Coco was rubbing her mouth with her paw. There is nothing to see but she is so shocked. She looks around all the time now. We went to the village to watch fireworks. When Fred drives, he hasn't had any alcohol for a long time before, otherwise I drive. The 'angry' look Romy has, she got it from Fred. Everyone always asks both if they are angry, but that is their facial expression. xxx Eveline

My resting face is a angry face too. When I go into a store a lot of employees ask me, can they help me, is something wrong! But if I’d walk around with a smile on my face, I’d look like a folk!😂😂

I can understand why Coco didn't like having a hornet in her bag. I had a Pomeranian who was allergic to bees and had to take her to the vet each time she got stung. Eventually I just started giving a small piece of benadryl. BTW, Eveline I don't like the taste of beer either. Thanks so much for sharing your holiday videos with us!!! What part of France are you staying in? How many green shirts does Fred own? Just curious.

Paulaner is the most famous beer where I am from, which is Munich, Germany. Fred drank a Paulaner Weißbier, but he drank it not the correct way. You have to put it in a large glass and once you put all the beer in the glass you have to rub the bottle to warm the yeast and then put the foam on top of the beer and fill the glass up. That’s the correct way of drinking Weißbier 😊

Puts things into perspective spending an afternoon in a crowd listening to fireworks then coming home to a quiet night listening to the flow of water. I wonder of all the times spent at this location what everyone's favorite memory would be. Happy to see everyone is well😊

Paulaner beer is awesome. Put a slice of lemon in your glass along with your beer. It’s amazing how much they go together. Try it Fred!

It's actually dark wheat beer from Bavaria, (Weissbier - barley and various amounts of wheat get malted, depending on type) Paulaner have other beers, too, e.g. "Helles," a pale lager. A slice of lemon traditionally goes with the filtrated pale "Kristall" Weissbier variety. (though it goes well with many beers) I've worked as a waiter when young and had to serve thousands of those... 🙄

When I was a child our black and tan had a swarm of Hornets sting her and had to rush her to the vet. She survived and lived 17 years. I slept with her my whole childhood, :)

Eveline you look soooo lovely! Poor Coco! If you puff out and tie a brown paper bag, (even a sheet of newsprint) and hang it near where the dogs bags are, hornets will stay away thinking it is another hornets nest, really works!

Fred, Paulaner beer is great. If you like a bit more 'bite', you should try the Hefe-Weizen, it's like a 'Half-white' so best of both worlds. It really good. And Poor Coco, I hope she gets over her fear, that was so sad to see her so paranoid. Even when she ate, her tail didn't wag at all. Love the vacation diary, keep them coming!

I can still remember videos from back when Fred never really wanted to be filmed. Glad that has changed over time. :) Oh yes, Hefeweissbier, is usually filled completely into a glass, because otherwise there is usually a lot of yeast left in the bottle, which only comes out when you refill the beer. ;)

Poor Coco. Bear and I said a prayer for healing for her. When I was younger, I bumped a hanging rag over the car shed. Lurking up close I got stung on my left hand by yellow jackets. Swollen left hand and painful at the time. The afterward itching was really bad. I totally respect this family of stingers and I go out of my way to stay out of theirs. I totally understand Coco! Eveline, please tell Fred this is not the right way to drink a german Hefeweizen. You need a big Hefeweizen glass, put the head of the bottle inside the glass and pull it slowly up from the bottom so you have not so much foam. Leave a rest inside the bottle and shake it to mix up the yeast on the bottom, then fill the rest in the glass to get the yeast in and form a nice foamflower. 👍🏼🍺❤❤ Some people Mix it with banana Juice 😂🐕🐕

Were the fireworks in honour of Bastille Day? I don't blame Coco for being afraid of wasps, I am petrified of them - and all of their relatives, bees, hornets and anything else that stings. My daughter's dog is afraid of flies and will hide in the shower, closet or under a bed until the uninvited guest has been neutralized.
