Woody is a comic genius! I feel blessed to be of an age to have seen him perform live stand-up on television, and to have seen his movies upon release in movie theaters. His modern interpretations of slapstick comedy are pure brilliance. The opening sequence of Play It Again Sam, with a close up of Woody's face, had me rolling in the aisle laughing before the movie had begun. Bravo Maestro!

When I watch this movie, I laugh at almost every line-even from my first viewing. I once watched it on a date -- she didn't laugh once-except for the line where Diane made food out of snow and said, "For dessert, I have a nice bowl of sleet." We weren't a match.

Philosophy majors would be extremely impressed with me rattling all that off, for a moment, until they realized a moment later it was a joke. :) Then they would be amused and annoyed...mostly annoyed.
