The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Күн бұрын

In this new video series, leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reassure those who may feel unwelcome in the Church that they are loved and needed. They also encourage members to extend the hand of fellowship to others, regardless of perceived differences.

When you're down, lost, lonely, hurting, wounded and feel like no one in the world loves you, it is the Love of God and the love of other people at church that really changes people. This is how I was at one time, lost and desperately hurting, and because of LOVE, not others judgement, it brought me to the church and a conversion in Christ, and I would add a healing through Christ. We are only asked to judge righteously for the purpose of spiritual and physical protection. For example, I know when I see a certain situation that isn't safe, I judge for myself to stay away. But if I see someone who needs help and love is struggling with sin, should I stand their and lecture them or can I listen? Can I share understanding? Can I share hope that there is a better way? Leave judgement and justice with God and learn to "Love one another as God has loved you." Nothing changes people more for good than the love of God.

I have learned a lot about this for the past couple of years. It is better to love the person and try to encourage them to be better than to judge and condemn. It is good to love the sinner, but hate the sin. Sometimes people don’t mean to sin, they are just weak. Mercy is greater than judgment. If we can help others to stay on the covenant path instead of push them away by the judging them harshly, the outcome will be better.

It hit home I believe many many need to hear this message. It is not about exclusion but inclusion we all belong together. Unfortunately so many people create walls around us even some members.

Real Love... unconditional love... Christ's love.. is simply this: Caring about the happiness of another person without any thought for what we might get for ourselves. When we give Real Love... we are NOT disappointed... NOT hurt or angry... even when people are thoughtless.. or inconsiderate.. or give us nothing in return.. INCLUDING.. gratitude. To care about the happiness of another has NOTHING to do with if they are NOT doing what WE WANT them to do. Real Love is NOT about us and how others are pleasing us. It is ONLY about caring about the happiness of others.

I struggle a lot with church, a part of it is personal, another part is that as an African chuch sometimes feels like a very western idea or set of values. But one thing I can always give the LDS church is that it's values encourage understanding. That is something amazing when Christianity is widely use to exclude or alienate people.

A law , is by the way nobody is looking to obey the truth. The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. The truth that everyone is doing it does not justify the just in breaking the law with everybody that does. It's a learned behavior that , does not obey the law to truth the fact that everyone is breaking the law. It's how , we become refugees in , the work to commandments if the law has no just to be justified. The just drive the speed limit to obey all the laws , regardless if everyone is breaking the law. They be just in justifying the truth to commandments. Now its important little by little , to see , how the just can control themselves and the mob , ransacked the outlet store because the majority is doing it. So is the speed limit. The law must be just to be justified. Little by little , the law to be set in freedom has no freedom if law is not just in keeping it. The rights of the law does not give you permission to break the just , to be justified in God's law. To live together without the truth is law in this country. Its your right to live without the truth to freedom the , law that supports a oath to support the military. The book of Mormon is a great example of this teaching to oath , in living in peace but not the truth in supporting the military. Time repeating itself is by the blessings and opportunities to , be prepared for this type of direction. The truth makes you free . The right does not make you free the truth does. Rights have a season the truth is endless. The right to , be free is by the truth you can live together without it. Freedom is a blessing to opportunity and blessings the law we live to just the commandments that dont live by the truth but by the oath , to live the law of the right to be free together. Its your right to be free to choose the course and , to be just in the law lived that domains its creation. The creation of the law is by is own right to be free , by the oath and by the just. The privilege to obey the law has the right to be , different from a oath that does not in being free. Its like saying if one fails we all do to stop at a stop sign. The right that we don't all fail is called free agencies , free agency. Now , a state of is by the law its obeyed in to be just in the difference to be justified United. By choice to be in the way of the law makers to live to be judged to the creation that is made has consequences that be to the right as choosing the right does , over the law that allows such to be in control of they own creation to be subject to. Sin and transgression is eternal law to all creation. The glory is by the creation that is by law the truth to all that be just in keeping it the same even if its not being obeyed.

“That makes it harder for us to associate with them and to love them.” WHAT?!?! So you’re telling me that if someone does something that you don’t approve of, they become harder to love? That it becomes a burden on your fragile sensibilities to fundamentally care about somebody who disagrees with you? How do you react when somebody drinks coffee around you? I get not going to Starbucks with them, but are you genuinely telling me that any time somebody does something you don’t emphatically approve of, your natural inclination is to love them less? This is some grade A toxic waste.

Norma Jenks, I think you missed the point of the message. Not everyone has this habit, but some of us do. I am LDS and my grandfather was not. He was a 2-pack a day smoker, but I loved him dearly. However, somethings that others do may make me love them less... like an arrogant coworker. I struggle dealing with someone like that and may find myself loving him/her less. This is counsel that tells us to look past those things we struggle with about others and learn to love them as Christ did. Hope that helps

I think the point was to NOT focus on the things you don't like about another person, or that could cause tension, such as your example of a coffee habit(assuming you can live with such a thing, as in: it's not going to harm your health in drastic ways). Therefore, you can love them despite their bad or "bad" qualities.

The video was saying we need to overcome our flawed tendencies to do that. That we need to love them first, love them more, and sacrifice ourselves for them. It was recognizing that as humans, we can struggle to love people enough when they do things we feel are bad or wrong or hurtful. Because it can be hard to be loving when someone is hurting us. But how instead of arguing, 1st love the person. And if appropriate, then we can explain how certain choices might affect their happiness or cause pain. But the most important thing is to love them despite our instincts to argue, etc. Which make it harder for us to do the right thing, which is to love them anyway. Something being harder doesn't mean that we shouldn't do it. He wasn't giving us a pass. He was saying it is hard, but love anyway. Many hard things are the most important things to do. Listen to the whole thing again. See if you know what I mean.
