What an absolute honor for those students! Saenchia is a legend and great teacher and having Superlek there too!
@MusicforMe1232 жыл бұрын
Saenchai is building everyone's reflex memory. He is very sharp, he sees what's coming and touches the opponent's muscles so that they remember to retract their kick or retract their arms and move their head after a strike otherwise you are susceptible to a counterstrike. Not only is Saenchai an excellent fighter but also an excellent teacher. The guy in black and orange fighting at 9:00 got potential but he plants his leg in an awkward position when he kicks, if someone sweeps his planted leg he can get hurt really bad. Great sparring session, good to see people with so much respect for the sport.

I'd say that's a good reflection on their coach. It shows he promotes and instills good values and discipline in his gym and makes sure everyone keeps their ego in check. From my experience, there's nothing more toxic than a gym where the coach has no control over his students' behavior.

At his level, this was barely a warm up for him. Dudes like him operate on a different level... the body is so conditioned to that high level of activity that sparring sessions like this truly are play time. Obviously he could demolish every person in this video if he wanted to, but he is simply so skilled that it is effortless for him to control his movements and strength to a degree where he can apply just enough pressure to teach but not hurt, while fighting without tiring.

@@cgigammez5749 I haven't started sparring yet but I think you're right, because I wouldn't know most of these were groin shots if not for the reaction. Female bodies have longer abdomens too, and guys wear baggy shorts when they spar. I don't think it's always obvious where the balls are at tbh. I think you just have to overcompensate with your aim so you don't miscalculate.

Can someone tell me a little bit about what is happening here? Is the goal for them to fight until he trips them up or is there something else going on? Don't have any Muay Thai experience unfortunately.
@eye_man_danda_best_man4311 Жыл бұрын
The art of 8 limbs. The objective is ko but Muay Thai is essentially "dirty boxing" elbows knees and leg sweeps are allowed. I have limited experience as well
@joekiwi200 Жыл бұрын
@@Sc4recrow44 Thanks for letting me know. So does that mean when he trips them up, that was actually his first opportunity to trip them up or is he choosing to end the sparring by tripping them up? I mean is it a controlled fight in the sense that they are not trying to seriously hurt each other but if it takes one of them 2 minutes to win, then that is the actual amount of time it took to win or it took 2 minutes to decide that the sparring is over?
@metalzonemt-2 Жыл бұрын
@@joekiwi200 I don't have any experience, I've just seen lot of videos, so I know it's just sparring. If those were real fights, it would take about a second for those pro-guys to knock out each sparring partner. They spar certain amount of time with each partner.

@Y_on yeah it's a sign of messing around by the Thais or anyone who does that. Usually you'll see it when a high level person is sparring with someone of lower standards
@ShaneSiKBoYBrown2 жыл бұрын
I actually thought it was when people leg kick to the side of the knee instead of the thigh. I saw it done a few times when the kicks land low. It's something that's very frowned upon, like elbows in sparring, as it can cause lasting damage to your opponent long after the sparring/fight is done. I know head trauma can do the same, I'm not arguing for or against anything simply stating my assumption and the experience I base it off.
@jonathanmorgan13312 жыл бұрын
@@ShaneSiKBoYBrown yea hitting the joints are off limits atleast to me they are and I make sure to do a quick rule run down with that said if I spar lol.. I'm not even sure if that's allowed in most sport fighting events
I've never done any muay thai, but I think is lame to catch a kick and toy around with your sparring partner when they are throwing the kick at half speed. Can any of you guys who do train give me your opinions? Am I correct or is it ok? Cause I wouldn't like if I threw a slower kick to not cause any accidents and the guy catches it and sweeps me
@TPSTraining2 жыл бұрын
Sure! I reccomend, watching saenchai in action in REAL Full contact Muay Thai bouts. He dous that in real fights too.. Saenchai is holding back in sparrng with beginners, he is so far supirior, but he is very nice. Thats why sparring with him is fun, but fighting isnt.
@slashbmp Жыл бұрын
For this guy, you can kick with full speed and put all power too, but you might be still catch and get sweeping. Better if you learn how to stand up with a cool look after that, then try to sweep him back or say something like "No sweep pls." Seriously, I think the catch and sweeping are his natural reflection. He cannot hold it back. If I am the students, I'm okay with it.
@gulianomillauro3840 Жыл бұрын
In a real muay thai fight you become points for the sweep
