Definitely one of the celebrity deaths that truly threw me for a loop. It was so random and sudden and unfair. He was so young and had so much potential.

Just a couple of weeks ago Cameron Boyce also died at the age of 20. It's really awful when young people die...
@alexanderforbes14525 жыл бұрын
His being unlike most celebrity deaths is what really hit me, wasn't drugs, mental health, or even a plane crash, just a weird, stupid, accident. So unfair, man, makes you realize how fragile life is and how suddenly your life can be destroyed. You can do everything right, be as healthy as a horse, and still bite the big one at any time.
@flannerymonaghan-morris48258 ай бұрын
Worse still? He was only 27. A young man, still with his whole life and career ahead of him. I really do think of the what ifs when it comes to these kinds of things…what if he didn’t get into the car? What if there had been some sort of safety feature? What if he was still around today? Man, it sucks. It really does. I often wonder…

But no, he simply died and thats super sad.

I met him during a riot in Hollywood back in 2012, after this punk show got out and everyone was breaking windows and throwing bottles at the cops and they were shooting the crowd with rubber bullets. He was there with a video camera recording the whole thing behind a bus and we talked for a while. I can vouch that he was a very sweet guy.

He was one of my favorite actors, and he died on my birthday. Seeing Star Trek Beyond in theaters for the first time, I cried realizing I'd never see another movie with him again. He couldn't keep inspiring me and lighting up the screen. His life was needlessly cut short, and it still breaks my heart that he's gone.

I was fourteen when he passed. I had only known him as the kid from Star Trek but his death still haunted me. As I was also young and interested in acting and the movie business as a whole, I felt like he was someone who had made it that I could look up to. That haunted sensation grew the more I watched his earlier work and realized that he seemed destined for greater things. Yet all that was ruined in the weirdest and most tragic way possible. It hurts even to think about him now getting the recognition he deserves and not being able to see it happen, but I'm glad that he made his mark on the world before he left it.

Devastating, but what an honor to get to " know" him a little. When I was at Hollywood Forever last year, I stopped at his resting place, which might be described as ornate, even by Hollywood standards. I was very moved, even though I was only vaguely familiar with him. As I was leaving, a young lady who was working at the cemetery said to me "his parents visit every day."

This was a guy I didn't get to know too well from any movies except two or three. I first saw him while I was switching channels on HBO, he was playing a highschooler pretending really well to have medication needs and passing it off to other students for cash. Instantly loved him for some reason, and was overjoyed when he appeared in Star Trek. Unfortunately, I never learned his name until a year or two later when I found he passed away and it somehow stopped my train of thought, I barely saw maybe 30 minutes of his screen time yet he had an energy about him that attracted me right away. Rest in Peace and will be thought of fondly forever

I definitely want to see this. I'd been a fan of his since he was a kid actor and had been amazed at how talented he was even from a really young age. As I'm also a massive Trekkie, I was even happier when he got cast as Chekov in the first JJ Abrams movie as I was obviously aware of his Russian heritage. I was very confident he'd be perfect for the role, which he was. So, I was just as heartbroken when news of his death broke. He was WAY too young to go and I'm sure he probably had loads more to give us. But at least we have his countless roles and this documentary to remember him by.
