Met him on the flight-deck of an aeroplane high above the straights of Malakka, scrapped my holiday plans right away, went with him to his hotel, spent his 3 days layover in Singapore, flew back with him to London, contaced my Consulate and got my civil papers as we call them in my country, and married him 5 weeks after first setting eyes on him. We're married for 27 years now, 3 kids, upteenth dogs, cats and horses, big estate we built over the time. We're still as happy as in the beginning. It can work.

I totally agree with you except for the photo part. It's not she stepped aside to let him do his job to have photos taken with others. That's not his job. He hates it. He's no puppet for tourists. His job is guarding the Monarch. And he is a highly trained war machine. These guys deploy to war zones. Don't get deceived by their beautiful appearance in their uniforms. They can do you in in a split of a second with their index fingers without you even realising. They are totally sweet and it looks like he's given her his number indeed. She didn't get close of respect of his job and his horse.

My next question would be… who is the person with the camera? I love this picture. The young couple are so dear. The horse is a wonderful chaperone and I feel she is a sweet brave girl to show her feelings. He seems to be very taken with her but he is still able to keep a vigilant eye on the crowd. Young love ❤️ is so very special. I married my husband in 1966. He died just before Christmas in 2016. These days what is wonderful is that I remember the days when he courted me. Very adroitly. He was 6 years older than me and our romantic year of courtship was such a happy time.
