I’m looking forward to making this, it looks delicious. I’m always so happy to see you use a spatula to scrape everything out of your bowls. On so many cooking videos I watch, they will use a spoon and leave so much stuff left in the bowl. Drives me crazy.

Dee and Paula, when I was a little girl I lived in Stone Mountain GA. I lived there until 1979 until my daddy passed away. Then we moved away. Stone Mountain has changed a lot over the years. My husband is even from Stone Mountain too. Thank you for sharing this recipe. It sounds and looks delicious.

The coffee cake looks so good! I need to try it asap. I was at the grocery store yesterday and the price of eggs has gone through the roof!! $5.99 for just one dozen large, brown eggs!!! I live in Massachusetts so I'm not sure how much they cost in your neck of the woods. Sooo happy we have a chicken coop! We have the best tasting and largest eggs around. We sell them so people tell us that all the time... Good to know!

I made this but put it in a cast iron pan. I cooked it for 33 minutes but I think I could cook it more it seem pretty gooey in the middle but tasted so good. I put no extra sugar on top

It's technically a dry ingredient, but most always mixed with wet, so it distributes evenly and cuts down on mixing time, creating more airy end result, so, considered part of wet ingredients. It turns into a liquid state when heated, so scientifically, considered wet. Lol, depends on who you talk to!

You are correct sugar is a wet ingredient not dry. Just like butter when cold seems solid it melts with heat, so does sugar.

Add a drop of water to a 1/8 cup of powdered sugar (the "driest of sugars") and see what happens, then do the same with flour. Sugar in its crystalize form has been processed to be that way...Beet sugar and cane sugar are BOTH liquids and wet and must be extracted and crystalized.

I am so glad more women are bringing this to the public eye. I also suffer from osteoporosis after I hit menopause and Its been a rough road. Its such a debilitating condition that more men should be aware of. Paula is my hero and I feel like we share a connection deeper than the Mariana Trench LOL!!!
