Homemade Pecan Cinnamon Braid Coffee Cake: A Showstopper Holiday Dessert by Heartway Farms

Here's the recipe:
Pecan Braid
3/4 cup warmed milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons oil
1 egg
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus some for dusting
1 cup raisins
*Egg for egg wash
Filling:
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped pecans
4 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Icing:
3 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 tablespoon sour cream

Beautiful... if you soak the raisins in hot water n add to the bread at the end so they dont break up it makes the raisins taste awesome. They plump up .

Hi Julianne, This looks so delicious I’m going to try it, but what really caught my attention was your dishes!! I have that exact same colonial blue patterned set! I inherited it from my parents. They picked up an entire set one piece at a time back in the 60’s when a local gas station would gift a piece from this set if you bought their gasoline. Do you let the loaf rise in a warm place or just on the counter....I think my attempt was under proofed...maybe due to no first rise? maybe due to not rising it in a warm place? The dough was beautiful to work with, but the crumb was quite tight
