Lulu is precious. I love to make cakes in my mother's bundt cake pan. It is the older one that came out many years ago. I think when they started making them. I know it is very old. Anyway, I made a apple cake in it Thursday, and I never have much luck with them coming out perfect. I grease and flour that pan very good, never comes out really good. I left the cake in the pan longer than 20 minutes, really almost 45 minutes. I went to take it out and I was shocked, it came out perfect. This is the first time I have EVER made a cake that actually came out perfect. The brown sugar cooked icing looked perfect on it. MMM a great fall cake is the raw apple cake with the caramel brown sugar icing. This recipe is a great fall recipe too. I am going to have to make one of these cakes, very easy. I just love little Lulu, she is so cute. I love the way you have her groomed. I am a cat person, but love all animals. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Lulu wants a piece of that warm cake...LOL I love warm cake. In fact, I cut my apple cake while it was still warm. LOL Love you, Paula.

I used to make cakes all the time and take them to work. Everyone loved all the different flavored cakes I made, some were even experiments.😋 One day one of my coworkers brought me an orange cake mix. At first I wasn't sure what to do with it but then I remembered a cake I had once had. So I took a 20oz can of crushed pineapple, strained the juice and added as the liquid and added the pineapple after the cake was through mixing. That orange pineapple cake was one of the best ones I made! It was moist and tender and the flavor was perfect with the two flavors together! People who didn't like orange or pineapple loved the two flavors combined. So consider making this combination with an orange cake mix. It works best if you drain the pineapple and add the juice and the pineapple separately. The pineapple juice works great for the liquid and I always use melted butter (even when it calls for oil). Make sure to add all the other ingredients except for the pineapple. Once you've beat for 2😅 minutes, you can add the drained pineapple, just stir it in. I also make this cake in a Bundt pan. I've even heated up some orange marmalade or pineapple preserves to drizzle on the cake at the end. It's like a glaze and either one works. Orange and pineapple go together so well and the cake is delicious!😘

I tried this recipe. So good. 60 minutes was too long. Cooked another cake for 40 minutes. Turned out great. Ovens may differ slightly.

Off the subject…..BUT….. idea…. I have heard of so many different kinds of fried pies recently. I’ve loved making them for years, remembering my grandmother when she made them as I watched as a child. Typically, she made apple, but occasionally did peach.
