When my children were growing up in the south (alabama) we got a strawberry pie from Shoney evert Sunday. Yummy

I made the same pie using peaches and peach jello. Delicious!!! Picked up fresh peaches coming home from the beach.

Shoney's is the best breakfast restaurant ever. Your pie is spot on.

I remember the strawberry pie. I also liked the hot fudge cake.

That’s wasting strawberry. You need to take the sharp end of a knife and core it from the top. 😊. Just a tip 😊.

You are correct! Thanks for the tip, it is great that we can learn from each other.

I work at shoney's for many years and this is not how they make their pies. The glaze is pre-made it comes in cans it is not homemade LOL
@CookingwithGlennandKati3 жыл бұрын
Evelyn, Thanks for your reply.I realize how companies use canned products in their foods. The process I use replaces the canned glaze and is not exactly the same but pretty dang close to what I remember when I would order almost every Sunday night!

If you are diabetic, run from this one. Do you have a diabetic version? There are about 15 million of us, and strawberries are good for us, but the amount of sugar you are using in this recipe is unreal. Great presentation though!

Thank you for your feedback, Rebecca! At this time, we do not have a diabetic-friendly version, but that's an excellent idea! Thank you for taking the time to watch! - Glenn and Kati

Can you just substitute Splenda from the large bag for the sugar and then use sugar free jello? Top with sugar free Cool Whip.
