I'm 24 (born 2000) I have been a huge fan of Carol Lynley 4:30 since I was 10. Through her I have thankfully been introduced to these shows from the 60s, 70s, 80s. I can't get enough of them! I watch Love Boat every day at 1pm on CHCH, so grateful I can still watch them.

Was 10, the Love Boat or "la Croisière s amuse" was absolutely delightful, a moral booster, with amazing guest stars. A dream come true for a girl from the country never going on holiday... We all miss good intentions, genuine love at that time...The cast was like family visiting us....

ABC TV 📺 and SATURDAY NIGHT was absolute gold in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Among my favorite childhood memories on television! LOVE BOAT followed by FANTASY ISLAND!!! Thanks a million!!!

I knew my 1950's favorite, Rhonda Fleming, the ''Queen of Technicolor'', had appeared on ''Love Boat'', but I did not know which season, until I found this fine channel. She was quite wealthy and adulated. One time many of Hollywood's leading cinematographers held a contest to see who could find if there was any angle of Rhonda that lacked her legendary glamour look. The cameramen admitted failure: Rhonda Fleming was photographically flawless. She was never a diva and treated with respect everyone in her show business career and generous charity endeavors, particularly her endowment of a whole wing of Beth Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, that has become the model of cancer care provided to women. She also donated millions to set up a center to help children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse. God bless Rhonda Fleming!

💯 "my childhood right there in 7 minutes" NEVER missed this show on Saturday nights...Even though I was too young to watch the earlier seasons...and wouldn't have been allowed anyways as my TV watching was heavily regulated...Once I escaped confines of fundamentalist household, getting away to neighbors' homes to babysit, I never missed The Love Boat (and later Golden Girls) on Saturdays....Recognize almost all of the guest stars as well...Great, simpler times...

The Love Boat was considered a ideal spot if you were a classic star. First, a number of them had some financial issues (think Mickey Rooney was almost bankrupt at one point) - and it was a very easy shoot. Pretty simple lines, and the crew had shooting down to a formula, so the classic stars knew they wouldn't have to work hard. Also, Aaron Spelling made sure that all of the classic stars were treated with reverence. Too many in Hollywood at that point didn't really give them a chance, but they were treated like royalty when they appeared on The Love Boat. In fact, if there were any problems between the guest stars and the cast and bit players, the guest stars would never get yelled at. Lauren Tewes (Julie) didn't understand this, treated them like other actors (and was probably a little rude) - which is why most of the time you don't see her in many scenes with the classic stars - Gavin McLeod and Bernie Kopell got a lot more screen time with them because they had experience.

This video is a double edged sword...fond memories of watching the show when it aired Sat nights but seeing all the actors who have passed since then is very very depressing. The Love Boat probably can boast it had more guest stars than any other drama/comedy show in TV history, with the exception of maybe PERRY MASON.
