The words of this comforting hymn were written by Charles Wesley and is now popularly sung to the Welsh tune 'Blaenwern', composed by William Rowlands.
The descant was written by Lindsay Gray, who is presently the Director and Conductor of Caritas Consort, a choir based in Wales,UK. Lindsay was a choral scholar at King's College, Cambridge, and sang under David Willcocks and Philip Ledger. He has also been the Director of RSCM(Royal School of Church Music).
