My parents are still together as well as my maternal grandparents so I know what it’s like growing up with a father figure in the house. When me and my daughters dad split I knew the importance of having him in her life although I couldn’t stand him… I didn’t let what happened with us get in between her relationship with her dad. But I still got called bitter when I would drive her myself from Texas to Georgia every summer to spend the summer with her dad and didn’t get a dime from him to help get her there not was he paying child support or providing financially… a bitter woman wouldn’t do that but I knew the importance of her relationship with her dad

It's all about choices. The standards of the past no longer apply today. In the black community we no longer respect one another's TRUE ESSENCE in respect to God's gifts given to men and woman. From the age of 6 my dad moved out and until 32 we had no relationship. He died when I was 42, for 10yrs he was my best friend and a lot of issues I would present to him and how I was gone handle it he would always give me a more calmer subtle way to handle things. I realized then I was missing that for 26yrs

Like Erykah Badu said “Pick your friends like you pick your fruit.” Love has some good points your mindset has to change . Your thinking process has to change especially in the relationships you trying to build with others. I’ve always been an old soul so my thinking process as a woman is different than my generation. Like Ms. Love stated as you grow and age you become wiser in the relationships you chose . This is a fact. You also become more aware of the company you chose to keep. If someone wants to pull up a seat at your table , you should be able to clearly identify what they bring to the table and their purpose at the table .
