Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure, exploration and factory automation elements where you can build your own galactic industrial empire from scratch.
In the distant future, the power of science and technology has ushered a new age to the human race. Space and time have become irrelevant thanks to virtual reality. A new kind of supercomputer has been developed - a machine whose superior artificial intelligence and computing capability will push humanity even further. There is only one problem: there isn’t enough energy in the whole planet to feed this machine.
You are a space engineer in charge of a project launched by the space alliance COSMO, tasked with a massive undertaking: constructing Dyson Spheres (a megastructure that would orbit around a star, harnessing all its power and energy) to produce the energy that humanity needs. Only a few decades ago, Dyson Spheres were considered a hypothetical, impossible invention - but now it’s in your hands… Will you be able to turn a backwater space workshop into a galaxy-wide industrial production empire?
Neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants, gaseous and rocky planets… There is a big and varied universe out there, waiting for you to gather all its resources.
Every playthrough will be unique: your universe will be procedurally generated every time you start a new game. There will be different types and distribution of stars, planets and resources. Will you manage to thrive and build your Spheres, no matter what the universe throws at you?
As a space engineer, you are expected to design your interstellar factory and production lines, not to micromanage every small package going back and forth. You have to transport materials from one planet to another, forming interstellar transport teams that gather resources and bring them to where they are needed.
Then, your resources can be transported between facilities through conveyor belts, and you’ve got the technology to help your buildings fit the grid automatically during the construction process. You’ve got the best tools COSMO can afford to build a massive-scale automated production line - the most efficient one ever seen in the universe!
Build a galactic industrial empire from scratch: start with a small workshop and improve it until it spans the whole galaxy

How I picture this game comming to be: Someone looked at Planetary Annihilation and thought "what if this was a purely builder game"? @@christopherg2347 you're technicallly correct, the best kind of correct ;D in empire earth, art of conquest expansion there was a new space age map type where you had a typical RTS map layout but with space instead of water too it was terrible though

@@brohvakiindova4452 I can understand why it turned out bad. In historical settings, ground forces are you main forces - ships are the support. In space settings it is flipped - ships are you main forces, while sometimes ground forces are barely simulated.

Hey Biffa, FYI, you can put sorters from machine to machine directly, without conveyor belts in the middle. Not any faster, but much cleaner, and easier to upgrade

This is like the game "Satisfactory" except for people with computers from 2010. I'd be interested in a Biffa playthrough of the latest Satisfactory update. Biffa has such a great mind for efficiency in systems with loads of variables, not to mention the vocabulary and voice to narrate beautifully, as evidence by the Cities Skylines traffic videos we're all so addicted to.

bit of a tip. Make sure you have coal near you so you can use it to fuel your robot guy. You will quickly run out of fuel and trees which will slow you down considerably.

Perhaps it's found later in the series, but you can use sorters as bridges between machines. So from smelter to assembler to storage.

I wonder how hard sci-fi they went. Are there O'Neil cylinders? Are we making the more realistic Dyson Swarm or a hard-shelled sphere? So you manage a civilization? An economy? You need a LOT of machines - especially drones, worker bees - working for you to build at interplanetary scale.

belts have 3 tiers: 6i/s, 12i/s and 30i/s inserters have also 3 tiers: 3i/s, 6i/s and 6i/s stacking up to 6 times with increased tech so 36i/s max (if I understood that right) now you can do lane mathematics yourself ;P (I know it was just a joke but just in case)

I've never bought an EA game so fast and didn't regret it 15€ is a steal for the production quality even if it needs fine tuning, it's already more complete than 90% of EA games

this game looks super interesting... its like a missing link between factorio and satisfactory... the planets look a little small for the factories though... i mean, i understand the limitations and sheer scope of the game, but it would be really cool if the factories and conveyors were designed to look like little cities unto themselves, which would make the worlds look much larger... i dunno, just my 2 cents :D

I ignored this game because from the screenshots it looked like Total Annihilation which I have already played enough of between that game and Supreme Commander. After watching this video, this game is nothing like what the screenshots tipped the game off to be.

Best thing about factorio was that it was DRM free on gog. I looked for this game on gog and no go. Still, if they sell it cheap enough on steam I would get it. Around 5 bucks I think is fair.

Ok I know this is was a different game a while back except it played more like a tycoon style but the building style was similar to this one. In that game you started with robots that could carry things to load the trucks which rode in and out threw toon tunnels that you could purchase more of. Decent 3D models. One of the main aspects was you could build factories that you could do processing in. This game looks like a more HD version of that game which is what they said they were working on. The guy I was watching played for a while then stopped after he had started putting in trains to carry the items away basically saying he would wait for the update/release version. I sware it was either Markiplier/Biffa/Brothgar/Nilaus possibly X because they were the only ones I remember watching for the base building videos at the time (aka ONI then Factorio by X and Mark) Could someone please help my aching brain with the games name thanks
