Criminally underrated bona fide classic album from a band who deserved much better before they got washed away by the Grunge tsunami. The production on this record is fantastic - everything sounds HUGE.

I saw them live in 1991, and thought exactly the same. Jizzy`s vocals was just amazing, and the whole band was totally wild and crazy on stage, it was fucking beautiful. One of the greatest live concerts, I´ve ever attended. They made Ozzy, who was the headliner, look like an old fart.

Same here. Not sure if you ever heard of Silvertide from Philadelphia, but I've been listening to their "Show and Tell" album a ton lately. Not exactly like Love/Hate, but some great hard-edge rock. I've been collecting music since the 60s and this one is one of my favorites. Too bad they didn't stick together longer. "I Ain't Comin' Home", "SFC", "Mary Jane" and "California Rain" are my favorites. Rock on!

+Andreas Stark WOW these are like half of my favorite bands (maybe besides Shotgun Messiah). Not many people know Life Sex & Death or Kik Tracee :D It's funny because the average year of the release of their debuts is the year I was born, and early 90s is still like 90% of music I listen to.

+Majestic12 Rock music was on fire back then. The looks, attitude, creativity, insane guitar solo's and slick productions are what's missing today. Don't get me wrong there will always be good music coming out but for the Hard Rock/Glam pop genre the bands I mentioned above (plus many more in my record collection) were the real deal and nothing these days can ever compare. Most of these Scandinavian bands that tried to revive Hard Rock/Glam a few years ago failed miserably sounding like Eurovision dog shit. Not all but most of 'em anyway. Not to mention the boring non existing Rock scene of today. That certainly wasn't the case in the 80's/mid 90's.Christ,even the ballads kicked ass! Rock music needs a kick in the butt,a real comeback. x

These two screams after the solo up to the end are insane. Marq Torien of Bullet Boys also could do this. I liked the song when it came out in 1990, but it took 30 years to spin it on heavy rotation. What a fun song.

Bands like Love/Hate just had this big sound, it's hard to describe. It's an arena sound where everything has a slight echo to it or something to make it sound bigger. Ratt was like this also and Poison to an extent. I'm sure there were others but I just love that sound.

Gee Mack He's referring to the gig we did at King Tut's in Glasgow in 1990.. The floor collapsed due to all the punters jumping up and down.. Crazy night.. Club was on the second floor and half -way of the set the floor just started to collapse.. Had to cancel so nobody ended up hurt. Did a make-up gig at Barrowlands hence the Jizzy quote to the audience.. Scotland always gave us love.............JL

The sound of this record was huge. Great production. Listen to the re-recorded later version and it sounds like it was made in a shed.

This album is classic. Problem is that they were from LA at a time when it was becoming uncool to be from LA. Such a shame. They deserved the same notoriety as GNR. These guys kicked serious, serious ass.

Awesome tune! A lot of people in the 1980s experienced what they're singing about!
