@@stacyp2186 I think he talked through everything because he didn't want to like it. He was basically going "lalalalala" through it all. Syntell was trying to get them to pay more attention. Chuck was trying hard to get Rekkai on board.

@angelam211527 күн бұрын
On the one hand, if I ever tune in again and Rekkai has that look on his face, I'm tuning out. He hated it before he saw it, and it wasn't fun to watch him hold on to that. On the the other hand, that makes me understand how my husband must have felt as we watched, and I will keep my mouth shut as we watch the rest of the series. For that, I owe Rekkai thanks. 🤐😇😃 I was in a mood when we watched, so I, too, quickly got tired of the kids. Nothing wrong with them; I'm old and too removed from kid thinking. BUT, because I had the benefit of watching eps 1 & 2 back to back, and time to sleep on it, all the little story hints had time to percolate and I've found myself interested in the things my rejection of the kids hadn't let me focus on. We'll see what they do.
@rain_uc27 күн бұрын
Yeah I definitely know my mood effects how I react to media first time through and while I liked it I was a lot less glowing than a lot of people. Its gotta be hard being a reactor faced with a show you don't have any interest in before the jump.
@ForeverBrooklynNYC27 күн бұрын
I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I’d prefer if reactors opt-out of watching a series they already know they are biased against. Or quit watching a show they’ve decided they dislike after watching a couple of episodes - especially if it’s a panel of reactors, instead of just one reactor

This ^^^^ exactly! The bias was so strong coming in without even the show starting. I was mega disappointed. I noticed Syntell was fairly quiet most of the show but his bias showed as well. World-building: it’s a thing.

I adore Rekkai, but I'm gonna have to try to watch this again another time. I'm totally fine with him not liking the show (that's his right) but the anger in his mouth the first 10 mins has thrown me for a loop. Uncle is pissed, and I'm walking on egg shells tryna understand how to cope.

I really can’t see how children being lost along a hyperspace lane that we’re being told is plagued by pirates without any adults supervising them isn’t HIGH stakes. Like it was said, if Goonies was stretched to a full series length, we would have had a full slower episode to meet them too. If this were a film, they would have found the ship and taken off much sooner. What’s going on with the barrier and the weird dystopian job selection? Why don’t they know what stars are? Indeed, where are the pirates we saw at the top? I think perhaps the episode could have been cut a little bit, but we don’t know if we saw more things that are more important than they appear. I know episode 2 does clarify more, but the reality is we used to have more patience with building worlds than we do now, even as kids. And that’s what this draws from.

Unsolicited Suggestion to Syntell: if certain people are dead-set against enjoying a show from the very beginning before even giving the show a chance, it's ok to allow them to opt-out from continuing. Your reaction videos will benefit from such discretion and you will retain a greater percentage of your audience as the series continues, As of now, I'm unlikely to return for Episode 2 and will instead continue watching Skeleton Crew reactions on other channels.

You guys are WILD to be coming in HOT and HATIN on the first episode. You're pulling nothing out of the air to fit whatever bias you have. I already knew I have never been able to connect to stories that centre around groups of children, especially all those 80's flicks that I've detested since I _was_ a kid in the 80's. 20 minutes into the first episode (yes, I dipped, this one ain't for me) I finally worked out why. I have a massive disconnect between how kids are portrayed on screen and my own experience (and the issue is on my side, not the other) - f'r instance, as 10yo's my friends and I weren't playing with figures, we were defending ourselves from the pack of 16yo's who decided we'd make great targets. At 12, I was trying to protect my classmates from paedophile junkies... i totally get that innocence is the norm for those age groups (and should be!), but I'm left watching a story that I find myself scoffing at because it doesn't seem at all realistic, just Disney Kids crap. Like I said, that's on me, the show is fine for thems that are into that sort of thing (my housemate, 3 years older, is really digging it). I shan't watch further, because it's definitely not my kind of show, but to all those who are into it, I hope the series is quite enjoyable for y'all. And for everyone in the comments section hacking on the guys for sharing their _opinions_ - grow up or go away. As obvious from my existence, *_NOT_* everyone is enamoured of this show. Nor does everyone have to be. If you can't handle someone having a different opinion to yourself without devolving into childish behaviour, don't be here (or anywhere with other people - not everyone in the world is going to agree with you, it seems it might be a little exhausting for you to cope with)

Really is a 2 part pilot cut in half if they release both episodes for the premiere. Still episode one was way too thin on substance and the hook comes without establishing a hook for us to follow our protagonists.

I don't get why this culture has grown to dislike kids so much. It's like ya'll see them as adversaries, not little humans. You didn't even give it chance (its a two episode premiere). Ya'll just talked through almost every visible second onscreen. and this reaction was maybe the most depressing thing I've encountered in recent Star Wars history and that is saying something considering what we had to endure with The acolyte. And I'm not surprised bout the main Negative Nancy.He didn't get the chance to make *constant* nasty sexual innuendos about "clapping cheeks" (he still snuck in "baby oil" in there on a show about children). I cant even watch this channel anymore because that guy is the perpetual guest. I can only watch the reactions with the women (not just because of their gender) and that's saying something. This was sooo strange and disappointing.

this episode was a tad long for a kids show. they probably could have cut a lot. though i imagine they had their focus groups so they found it good enough? keeping in mind people who were kids when the prequels came out LOVE jar jar...... and they have never changed their minds even being in their 20s now. so obviously having something to get the younger generation interested in starwars again. i would say this is probably more interesting and related to kids than spending like 30+ minutes on a boring dull desert planet. tatooine scared me for life. i hate deserts in most shows and games because how many times i watched a new hope and how damn boring that movie is after the cold open. i feel like peoples reaction to this will be a lot like wanda vision.. but i came here for action and powers and cool story telling.... not sitcom comedy and ptsd

the annoying human boy seems to be the best of the child actors here and hes just annoying. the tough girl is over acting hard and the other girl is underacting. not sure if having that headset is impacting her performance but most the time she just seems dead pan like shes bored and thinking "is it my line yet?" fancy technology and a mystery always get me though. so this ship, and whats going to happen MIGHT make it worth tolerating the bad kid acting. its just weird when we have stuff like haunting of hill house and haunting of bly manor where the child actors are pretty great to then see this... its like the netflix casting director stole all the young talent for their shows?
