Not to mention, what kind of person goes back home and completely erases/ignores the fact that he was raising 3 children. He was very present in their lives! How does a person just not miss their kids the entire time they were away filming; then come back and just erase their existence off of their Facebook-and life ?? I don’t know, that is some next level coldness. If I found out I had married someone that could do that, I think I’d have to run.

This season was the worst, from Hannah to Steven to Ramses to TYLER, it really feels like the producers are not vetting people at all and we are watching multiple scenes of near (if not 100%) verbal abuse, gaslighting, and whatever happened with Tim and Alex sounded(?) like it got physical at least with her putting her hands in his face or on his mouth. At some point the showrunners need to step in. They cut out the rich boy and gold digger lady from the beginning but then let Hannah verbally abuse Nick the entire season and Tyler did not hide his family well so how did the producers let Ashley go TO THE ALTER and get married without pulling her aside and giving her a heads up?! It’s manipulation from every single angle.
@deedeedan86813 ай бұрын
The whole conversation with Ramses about sex legitimately scared me, like demanding sex from someone who isnt feeling well is absolutely insane and such a terrifying way for anyone let alone a man to be. It reminds me of those women who married men that threw tantrums when they didnt want to have sex immediately after giving birth and still actively in the healing process. Ugh, chills.

I agree this show needs to be canceled. As soon as whatever season (I think atl) they're currently filming is done they need to postpone this indefinitely. Fire a bunch of people, get actual psychological and background checks done and revamp the show. As is, it's a complete fail. I wouldn't be shocked if someone gets seriously hurt at some point the way they got so many psychopaths this season.

Glad you are back! Wishing you a steady recovery! So what makes this Tyler situation worse it that in America, if a person who owes child support gets married (Tyler owes about $30k in back child support), their spouse will then be liable to assist in paying for that. Tyler also has 7 legal evictions under his belt (this has been verified by court documents and the TikTok detectives)- Ashley can kiss owning a home goodbye (if she doesn't already own one). Pairing herself with this man will be her downfall. The negligence that Neflix has displayed in not running proper background checks on these people is disgusting.

Please take care of yourself; we'll be here waiting! I did hear after that Marissa has rheumatoid arthritis, which can make your periods 100x worse. She was clearly in so much pain, and instead of being a good partner to her, Ramses was only worried about getting laid. I have the newest autoimmune condition, long Covid, and when your body is swelling internally monthly, it can be absolute hell. There are times when even the feeling of clothing against my skin hurts. There's not a lot you can do except ride it out; there just isn't anything you can take for the pain and make you "functional" (and that's a whole other thing; that women are expected to be perfect and amazing while bleeding and shedding their uterine lining for 7 days, but I digress).

100% agree that the nonsense of asking for a father's blessing/permission is just ridiculous and has no place in modern society. Girls and women are no longer used as pawns for brokering deals and alliances (or at least they shouldn't be). This is even more true when so many women have deadbeat fathers that weren't there for them, such as Ashley and for some reason she still felt compelled to include him on her wedding day and yet for Tyler including his father was not important.

Nick and Hannah hot take: They are a textbook example of a REALLY common dynamic in sexist marriages. The 'fun, bumbling, slightly slow, well meaning chill husband' (who does not pull his weight) and the 'uptight, mean, always mad, domineering, stressed, miserable wife' (who is stuck doing everything). The way this unequal burden persists is society continues to write the do nothing guy blank checks because on the surface he seems so 'nice', and on the surface, the woman seems so tightly wound and not fun. Until society goes, 'oh, he MADE her that way by shrugging and not pulling his weight', so, so, so, many women will be trapped in such dynamics and villainized for it. Endless American sitcoms trained us viewers to side with the do nothing man, so when we see a real life example, very few people empathize with Hannah. But I do! Nick tricked her into almost getting MARRIED off a fake persona, lied about many things, said he would cook for her, and then when she was rather trapped, turned out to be a small man baby. She should have been pissed, and she was. And sure, she did NOT handle it as well as just walking away immediately, but she did walk away after a few weeks, which is faster than I've walked away from some dumpster fires in my day. And as for her trying to 'change' him instead of walking away (and I agree, don't try to 'train' a guy, just walk).......women get SO MUCH cultural conditioning to do that. Especially in the south (and this is DC, basically the south), the message is 'men are all toddlers, you have to mold them into adults'. And while I DO think that messaging is toxic, I think Nick himself was looking for a bit of a Mommy, someone who would 'mold' him, so I think the guy would have been a terrible match for anyone and he bears the responsibility for coming on a marriage show while being in no way shape or form marriage ready.

@Reverse_Cowgirl-cat3 ай бұрын
Now I'm wondering how much their "sitcom dynamic" was real or if it was the producers seeing the "perfect story" for them to portray. Since it is so common in our culture, it's probably easy for them give a few nudges and edit some dialog towards that direction with out much thought.
@robinronin3 ай бұрын
Uh. Wow. That’s my parents. I can confirm this dynamic will absolutely mentally destroy your child and ruin them for life, especially if you’re a daughter and your mother constantly unloads her frustrations with your father on you, and your father is completely emotionally unavailable 😂
@deedeedan86813 ай бұрын
No I dont think thats fair to Nick at all, him being childish and immature is what HANNAH told us. She came into the relationship with issues fueled by her own insecurities and almost instant dislike of him. She was straight up emotionally abusing him and I dont care what the situation COULD have ended up as when the fact of the matter is that we saw this woman tear him down for absolutely no good reason. If someone is too immature for you, you leave them. You dont "accidentally" leave lists out where youre ranking his manliness and his entire personality like hes a number on a board and then doing the same thing to his face and throwing him under the bus with the whole "you told me in private you didnt want to be made out to be a villain and actually Im going to use that against you after i said i wouldnt". That is just such unneccesarily cruel behavior. I would feel sorry for her if she actually was baby trapped, but she wasnt, and she wanted to have a problem with him so she is a profoundly obtuse asshole
@MissDebbieSue1233 ай бұрын
Ok, that take would be a wonderful and insightful look into the dynamics of marriage and society, but it does not apply here, I don't feel, and here is why I think so. Hannah is a verbally-abusive person who sucks the life from any partner she would be w I th. Before she even saw Nick, she displayed shallow behavior. She is a negative force that makes it very clear she needs her partner to play into her self-fulfilling prophecy that creates the weakened fuc*- up of a man so she can n gleefully tear him down even more. She was constantly berating him, and being emotionally and verbally up and down so he is constantly unsure and eventually becomes co-dependent, which is what she manipulated the relationship to be, then she will Amp up the cruelty even more. Discussing her sex life and disparaging him on TV is messed up. If he doesn't want to do that, talk to him about it, and, I don't know, wash yourself. If you're going to espouse how immature Nick is compared to you, then be mature. Hannah is only happy when she can suck any self-esteem, pride, confidence, and happiness from your soul and then despise you for it. On these bumbling husband sitcoms, the wife isn't telling the husband how disgusting he is, or telling the world he's bad in bed, or trying to decimate his self-esteem. Hannah is not the shining example you seem to think she is. Nick didn't dodge the proverbial bullet, he escaped an emotional Armageddon.

One issue with Hannah and Nick too is that Nick being Cuban plays a factor. As someone who is Cuban and puerto rican, men in the culture are coddled often. From seeing what his mom said about him and her admitting she did coddle him, it was very familiar- it made me understand more and made me feel like Hannah, instead was basically kicked out and told to grow up and deal on her own- so she's resentful of the way he grew up. Not saying he's totally right, he does act very immature in many ways, but I do also feel Hannah was wayy too hard on him. She should've just pushed him to be independent without being such a bitch about it. There was zero grace and I definitely feel that comes from her jealousy thst she didn't have the option to live like him.

I think Ramses is a narcissist. In the pods & in Cabo, she had nothing to distract her so she was able to be all over him and he loved it cause he thinks the world revolves around him. But then they come home and she’s got a job & school and sometimes she’s gonna be on her period and not wanna be all over him like she usually is and he just could not handle that and I’ll bet he’s gonna run into this problem with whomever he dates because this shit is pretty universal. Ppl got jobs, and monthly periods and energy that’s not always super high. I swear I feel so embarassed. This feels exactly like season 4 Jackelina, I loved both of them and thought they were super great and then they do something foolish to embarass me. This show is a mess.

I think something that no one really gave Nick props for at least as far as what made it to the screen is the fact that she was willing to talk all that stuff about their sex slave find his back to a SOMEONE ELSE, so not even like a private couple conversation, even when he said he did not want that to happen, but he never did that to her he didn't talk about their sex life to anyone like that... And we all know that potentially anything he said about their sex life or about her that was sexual in nature could easily bring about really gross backlash on her because, woman+sex=slut! Put overall when it came to her family yes I think she wanted it to have them basically verify and validate all of her complaints against him but I think there was a secondary reason she did that and it's the same one we see her do with everyone else pretty much where and she essentially almost looks for situations in which there is a possibility of someone basically being sexist towards her or oppressing her in any way whatsoever, so she has an excuse to roll out the boss b**** Hannah mode. I need me totally see her do it when she states and announces to him that know him meeting her family actually meant nothing to her because their opinions mean nothing and she's the one in charge of her life it's her opinion and she's going to decide who she's with and what they say it doesn't have any standing. A healthy relationship with their parents (not the case here but that's beside the point, her entire family seems mildly afraid of her) probably would consider their opinion to a degree. But as usual she was super excited to announce just how much she didn't care what they thought to a degree that was almost kind of offensive, like they too were not on equal footing with her.

it would piss me off if someone didn't put in the effort for my family , didn't help to cook or clean and then went to take a nap , that is not working together , it is a red flag . What happens in this show is the guys don't know how to communicate their doubts or differences. They are worried, and maybe rightly so , that the majority female audience is looking for any excuse to come down on them like a ton of bricks. So when they have 'difficult' feelings , like anger , or frustration , or doubt , or confusion they burry them. So as not to risk looking messy or angry or mean or stupid . Then the feeling gets too strong to ignore , the damn breaks and it's over . See Tim , Ramses and Steven. This show is a female relationship porn. Most of the guys know the deal and they play along with it as best they can until they can't any more. Then the audience turns on them anyway. It's hunger games for couples . The women need to take responsibility for their own delusions as much as the guys do for not speaking what is on their hearts . These issues are ingrained in our societies.
