So it turned out there were actually five couples this season. One couple broke up after Mexico and the other made it all the way to the alter but no one knows for sure why they were edited out of the show. The woman from the couple that made it to the wedding - Renee - was shown at the event in season 7 and at the bridal fitting but they edited it to make it seem like she was just there as one of the other girls' guests. Renee said in an interview that she thinks she knows why her story was cut from the show and kind of alluded to the idea that her fiance was kind of abusive. There's also a rumor that the fiance threatened production with sue of side if they air their story. Renee is also married now which people also think is the real reason her relationship was edited out. It's believed that she was married before the show aired but she said she met her now-husband a couple of months after filming and they got married a couple of months after that. The other couple from Mexico was edited out because there's currently a lawsuit against the production team for not protecting one of the people in the couple when she was SA'd by the fiance. This whole season is a huge mess.

So when Johnnie says she has a history of both picking the unsafe AND safe guy -- I don't think she is actually being untruthful. - Her first and only love (as she describes) was an emotionally unavailable and volatile addict. - Then, she married the "safe choice", but was never in love with him. - So she has BOTH a history of choosing the bad guy (for LOVE) AND a history of running to the safe guy after (for SECURITY) I think that SHE just doesn't realize how those two things come across. And I don't think she has done the healing necessary yet for her to be on this show or getting into a marriage.

That's a nonsensical take, totally unsupported by any actions or words. We have no reason to believe he's lying. It's possible to just not be attracted to someone when they so drastically change their appearance with make-up/eye lash extensions/hair dye and product, from what can naturally occur. People can have preferences. And he even said, she could do what she wanted, but he just wasn't attracted to that look. If he thought she was out of his league, why would he not have jumped at the opportunity to have sex with her as it is pretty obvious she would have been receptive? Did you see the way he kissed her? He is just not attracted to her.

It honestly feels like she just wanted to set Aaliyah up to fuck with Uche (if he did cheat on him) but also I might have forgotten but like...when the heck did they break up? Cuz if it was far in the past, that meant those 2 hooked up after their broke up those 2 months ago which is like....MY GOD. I would NEVER have a one-night with my ex who cheated on me (which is why either Lydia made up the thing about Uche cheating on her or she.....has some SUPER low-ball standards for getting some dick). Like if they were still a couple back then (2 months ago) I wouldn't be bragging about shagging up with a guy who cheated on me XD. Like neither of them want to give the full story tbh.

Izzy probably lives in his mom’s basement. Everything was phony about him, even the four guys at the wedding who were posing as his friends. They were likely paid actors. That decor on the Airbnb was terrible. There’s no way a misogynistic guy like Izzy would’ve had that hideous fake flower arrangement on the wall. It was obviously an Airbnb and his bin of women’s bobby pins, earrings, rings etc. had serial killer vibes. If I were Stacy, my first thought would have been to be afraid of him. Lastly, Stacy calling “exotic” was mildly racist and had a white supremacist vibe. That’s my two cents.

37:37 People tend to look for partners that loved us the way our parents did. Given what Johnnie has said about her mother. How she's judgmental of her and emotionally unavailable, that's what love feels like to Johnnie. It's supposed to hurt. It's supposed to be unobtainable. You're supposed to come second to drugs or other women. But intellectually she knows that's insane, so she tries to get with good guys because that's what she's supposed to do, but that doesn't feel right to her. That doesn't feel like love. She gets bored. She needs the drama, the chaos, the pain. It's what she believes she deserves. People think she was playing a game and contradicting herself about her patterns. But she wasn't. Both patterns hold true. Izzy is her new crackhead ex and Chris is her ex-husband, the guy she's supposed to be with, but can't love because he doesn't abuse her. And the reason she's so good at off the cuff pick me speeches is because she pursues her own rejection. The less a guy is willing to invest in her, the more she's gonna want him.

@@goranisacson2502 Therapy helps. Like Johnnie can recognize her pattern, but there is a difference between knowing something intellectually and feeling differently about it. She needs to view herself as worthy before she can be comfortable with someone like Chris. As long as she thinks she's not good enough, anyone treating her with respect is gonna feel off to her. But once she does the work and loves herself, someone who acts like Izzy will disgust her as much as it does Stacy. I came up with the theory that Johnie was telling the truth to both Izzy and Chris. I think she has a history with "exciting" men which I connected to be her late ex-boyfriend, and "stable" men which I connected to be her ex-husband. I think she's had history with both types and she likes the "excitement" of a toxic relationship, but has previously settled for "stability". She only spoke about two relationships, so from that, I just inferred that its a 50-50 shot of her history being both "exciting" and safe
@CiaoColeG Жыл бұрын
I thought she lied too, but now I'm thinking she was confused, trying to sort it out, and desperately trying to save any connection. The biggest problem I have with Johnnie is her telling Izzy she is NOT in love with Chris, that he would always regret it if they didn't leave together, and then a half second after he dumps her she runs to Chris, begs him to be with her, and calls Izzy emotionally unavailable. Plus, all that trash talk in the women's quarters was mean. I don't think she is able to really care about either man because she doesn't even like herself.
@TheDisell Жыл бұрын
my read was just that Johnie warped her perceptions to make Izzy fit the "healthy choice" box because he was more exciting/her old patterns. then after he dumped her the haze was lifted and she was like oh fuck Izzy is the type I used to go for..Chris was the healthy choice after all.
@art.thomas Жыл бұрын
@@CiaoColeG oh, I have PLENTY of problems with Johnie 😂😂😂 I’m not defending her character (in how it’s presented in the show). Her saying she wasn’t in love with Chris was VILE. No defending that. Because it implies she was in love with Izzy. I just think she took her two truths, that she prefers “exciting”/“safe”, and shared it as the truth then new information was given to her. Maybe being rejected by Izzy made her remember the times she was rejected and reminded her she needed the safer option. Idk about her ability to love herself, but the show definitely portrays her as insecure and a hater, so I see where you got that conclusion. This is the correct take; it seemed so obvious watching it. I don't necessarily blame the people *on* the show for being confused, because they are in a very intense and confusing environment. But I am baffled that the people watching it at home are not getting this - media literacy people, honestly! Critical thinking! Just because Izzy is saying 'Johnnie is saying contradictory things!' doesn't mean that you have to take his word for it - you watched the show too! I don't think she even said 'I always go for the safe choice' - that was Izzy's interpretation! I'm pretty sure she talked about having sometimes chosen partners (specifically her ex-husband) because they were the 'safe choice', despite not being in love with them. That's not inherently incompatible with her having a pattern of choosing unsafe and emotionally unavailable men. The way I interpreted it was that she tends to choose unavailable and unsafe men, and she has reacted to that in the past by going with the 'safe' choice even if she's not completely happy doing that. In the pods, she seemed like she was wrestling with which 'path' to follow - Do I go with my gut instinct (unavailable man who my heart tells me to chase) or my more measured response (safe man who I like but I'm not sure I'm falling in love with)? Is there maybe a middle ground? Should I make more of an effort to truly open my heart to the 'safe' man and see whether that leads to love? Johnnie's most obvious fault isn't that she's a liar - it's that she is way too honest and unfiltered to the point of coming across as tactless and insensitive at times (e.g., openly calling Chris her number 2), and sometimes being unable to control her emotions (e.g., going off about Stacy when she found out that Izzy wanted Stacy not her). I also think she was pretty honest with Chris too, and it seemed like she meant everything she said to him - even if the way she felt wasn't always consistent over time and wasn't always logical or sympathetic.

I agree, the whole Lydia being a stalker story doesn’t make sense or at least there is a lot that was left out. Like the friends, why do they care that she is looking through their stories to the point that they tell Uche it’s creepy? They must know who Lydia is and how she is attached to Uche, so it’s not some stranger. She didn’t continuously contact them, in fact it seems that she didn’t contact them at all so why are they bothered? Are these friends people he know in real life or just people he follow? And he specifically said it was female friends, so that adds to the he may have been cheating and Lydia was trying to find out theory. Also also, if lydia’s behavior genuinely concerned you, why are you talking about how great of a person she is? You don’t have to trash talk her either, but you could bring up her “stalking” in a respectful way to warn Aaliyah and Milton if it was such a big deal. Idk it was like once Aaliyah left, all of a sudden Lydia’s crazy lol. I’m not condoning everything Lydia has done, like she definitely has issues with other people’s boundaries, but it definitely seems like Uche is exaggerating to make himself look better. Hopefully they reveal more at the reunion. P.S. Izzy and Stacey give me Nick and Amy vibes from Gone Girl.

I really like a man to be considerate, and it seems like throwing out stuff from people you don’t care about and will never see again is THE easiest way to show that you’re done with anyone from the past and ready for me to come into your life. Like how did he overlook that? And you can’t handle ever washing a dish, but you’re responsible and ready enough for a whole marriage? Seems very weird to me.

I know people will disagree but I think Johnie was actually the most self-aware. The fact that she so openly discussed her shortcomings in her previous relationships and was able to detect that she fell back into a pattern (albeit, a little too late) makes me think she has actually done work on herself. She has faults and she’s aware of her faults, maybe even too much so, where she self sabotages. I also don’t think she lied to Chris and Izzy and what she said to them made sense to me. Anyways I was happy to see someone who is messy, who has relationship trauma work through those issues in real time. Aware this could be a hot take.

No I felt the same way. As someone who tends to say stuff in the heat of the moment and then take a step back, and realize I totally worded it wrong, I related to her mix up. I truly think she said it wrong, took a step back, realized the opposite, and went through. The way izzy kept trying to attack her and get into her bfs ear. Hated Izzy. Johnie wasn’t perfect but I feel like she was way better then a lot of the other people this season (particularly Stacy. Stacy seemed like such a pick me ngl and it was triggering to see how she disguised it as just being “chill”)

Izzy was a hot commodity in the pods with multiple girls after him. Now shes conditioned herself that love isn't real if she's not in a battle to keep it.

When Uche started ripping into Aaliyah, I was absolutely gobsmacked that she let him read her the riot act. I've never cheated on a partner, but if I had, no way is the next person I date going to act like something I did in a past relationship anything for them to scold me about. UM NO. I'm all for owning it when you're wrong, but she hadn't wronged Uche. She was honest with him which was such a green flag for growth. And then he thought he had the right to just tear her down to the ground. I would have shut that man down so fast!
@GopherCakeStuff Жыл бұрын
No you're not crazy. The fact he slept with her 3 months ago and never brought it up to another girl he wants to date makes me side eye any accusations he has. Lydia being extremely emotional makes me think it was pretty easy for Uche to pull her back in at times even when their relationship was over cause when he's speaking to her later, telling her to explain to him why he's upset makes me feel he's emotionally manipulated her before. Lets not forget how he spoke to Aliyah when he found out she cheated once. He's controlling and manipulative. He will never "be on the wrong" and makes other people feel crazy for being upset at him.

Also he's probably the one who made her insecure if she did go looking through other people's profiles or went by his house to check if he was where he said he was at some point because he seems like a serial liar and cheater to me. I do not believe the story he only did it once at 19. It sounds like a set up for having the higher ground in a relationship so your partner will feel crazy for distrusting you later. Any emotion he displays is in an attempt to manipulate. I don't sense a genuine bone in that man's body.
