This was the first video we filmed for Love is Contagious. It was a ten day video shoot on Martha's Vineyard with video director Jeff Stein. We decided to put this video out only in the UK and that's why this is the first time you're seeing it in the US. Enjoy!

Taja, I just wanna say that your hit makes me think of the first time in Aug 1987 hearing it on the radio station at age 7 while my parents were buying school supplies promoting to the second grade made me loved it, so glad Prince signed you on his Paisley Park label when your album was released. And oh yes love is still very contagious due to damaged relationships.

i have been going to Martha's Vineyard since August 2008 and think it is the greatest place i've ever been. there is nowhere i'd rather be. when i read the description of this video and saw that it was shot on Martha's Vineyard, i wondered where on island it was filmed. when i saw the pink house in the Gingerbread Village campgrounds, i wondered no more. it was shot in good ol' Oak Bluffs. that's where i stay when i am on island. my cousin own a large house there on Seaview ave across from the Inkwell Beach. and to show how much time hasn't touch MV, i am certain the house you stood in is exactly the same today as it was in 1988. much of the island is the same and the native residents like it that way.

Paisley Park records. The Prince Rogers Nelson sound. He wrote 2 of the songs on her album. He offered Wouldn't You Love to Love Me to Michael and he turned it down. Prince gave it to Taja Sevelle. I had the cassette on heavy rotation 1986.

I appreciate your comment... just for clarity, the song was produced entirely by Chico Bennett. Chico also played all of the instruments. I wrote the song and created the first demo, in which I played the instruments (drum machine, etc.) Chico produced both of my first and second CDs on Paisley Park and played most of the instruments on those songs. He is a great producer and musician. Prince told me that I was the first artist that he gave a great amount of creative freedom to, for which I am very grateful. WoW! This is my very 1st time seeing this U.K. version and I absolutely love it! Was this video available back then in 1987-88? Taja Sevelle is not only one of THE FINEST women on the planet, but in this video she also shows how funny and humorous she can be(while sitting down legs out in front falling off the sculpted window structure and looking convincingly surprised). That was great/classic and a very nice touch to this video. She’s basically saying...”please don’t take me TOO seriously...”.
