4:03 “Your task is not to seek for #love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” ― Jalaluddin Rumi

The age we are living in has maligned the mind to such a large extent that sometimes it feels hopeless. Yet, I see light and goodness every now and then. For some reason the people of light have distances between them and darkness prevents them from strengthening. I continue to appreciate the good thoughts and hopes you put out. MashAllah. May Allah keep you in his infinite grace. In shaa Allah.

Salam aleikom. Thank you for your enlightening words. If you can start by having no prejudice, that is the best you can do. But to see only the good in people is very naief, isn't it? It's even dangerous. You forgive and you forgive and than you will be not respected.

True the barrier to divine love is egoistic desires, self, and selfishness. But is it necessary to kill ego completely or Eradicate egoistic desires. There is a purpose that ego serve or Allah would not have created it in us.
@spiritualexcellence5 жыл бұрын
Salaam Uzma, no, we cannot and must not seek to 'kill' the ego, but rather to control it, guide and direct it, so that it can serve the purpose for which it was created. I have come to realize the greatest path is the way of love and to bring the self into submission through divine love, rather than force and compulsion. The term 'kill' the ego is metaphorical, and it means to kill its negative characteristics. The most powerful and effective way to do this is through the light of divine love. It is a good question. Blessed regards.

Subhanallah sister, just stumbled upon your fantastic and fascinating question here a year on lol - no doubt brother Ihsan is much much more knowledgeable than me. Anyhow, my own humble opinion However I couldn't but think you were referring to a state of Insan e kamil that the perfected man (or woman) reaches known as 'Baqa' Baqa means Abiding or remaining in God. Used by Sufis to describe the state of perfected soul following annihilation of self (fana), which is the ultimate goal of a person performing dhikr (spiritual exercise of remembrance). Also refers to immortality or subsistence in the Unity of God sought by Sufis. Therefore after reaching fana it doesnt stop there.... There is another journey, The perfected human is given back their individuality (perhaps incorrect to call it 'ego' at this stage) through the grace of God Almighty such that the individual is subsisting in Baqa. In other words the indivudual is in concordance with the Hadith Qudsi. Where the Almighty speaking through the prophet ( peace and blessings be upon him) says My servants continues to draw close to me with voluntary acts of worship until I become the hands with which he throws, The eye with which he sees ...and so on. And Allah knows best.

Blessed salaams Tamara. Allah Almighty confirms that we have "been created in pairs from a single soul" [7:189]. Yet there are multiple levels to understanding this verse on a deep level, and insha'llah will try to speak to it on a separate article or video insha'llah. Regarding high sensitivity, please check this article, www.spiritualexcellence.com/blog/guide-living-highly-sensitive-person/. Blessed and divine regards!

A.A brother ihsan. firstly, i'd like to say that I LOVE listening to your podcasts.. I had so many questions and your podcasts helped a lot. I am slightly confused about something and I hope that you can shed some light on this. so basically, this day and age has seen an increased use of entheogens for 'spiritual' purposes. I'm not for or against it but people use these drugs/plants to induce psychedelic/spiritual experiences and apparently they tend increase the level of awareness.. according to this article: realitysandwich.com/219826/ayahuasca-and-the-godhead-an-interview-with-wahid-azal-of-the-the-fatimiya-sufi-order/ it seems to me that people including muslims are incorporating entheogens in their religious practices. my question is: if adam and eve became self aware or self conscious of their nakedness after taking a bite off the forbidden fruit, could it be that the forbidden fruit was actually a naturally occurring entheogen which resulted in the birth of self-consciousness/ego? and if so, shouldn't entheogenic substances be prohibited instead of encouraged? what is your take on this? it would be great if you could address this on an article or video or podcast. PEACE

Dear brother Azhar, best and most blessed of greetings in these sacred days of Dhul-Hijjah. As a rule, I and my teachers have always advised against any type of artificial or external inducement of state, for doing so ultimately handicaps an individual from being able to realize their own inherent potential. I suggest the book "Waking from Sleep" by Steve Taylor (amzn.to/2wDfsdD) in which he shows extensive and conclusive evidence that chemical inducement of experience is by nature a violent approach and ultimately harmful to mind, body and soul. That being said, there is value and purpose in everything Allah Almighty has created, and ancient traditions used plants and herbs with great wisdom, insight and inspiration for very specific purposes, such as in a rite of passage, but these were never incorporated as persistent pursuits. If you enjoy the material, brother Azhar, please join us in the new Awakenings Academy, which is just launching as a new and premier platform for knowledge and learning, and the awakening of human potential. www.spiritualexcellence.com/awakenings-academy/ (page currently being finalized, will be live by Wednesday, August 30th, insha'llah). To your eternal and divine success.

Does Allah wants us to completely kill our ego? (ego death as they call it these days). While in Quran, Allah has discouraged Rehbaaniat (where people actually cut themselves off from most of the worldly affairs to get close to the Creator ), please explain it in a few words. Thanks in advance .

quran is just a book , written by a man , who was neither a prophet , or a nabi , or anything like this... what suffis speak about , was discovered thousands years before ... by boudhists , by hindous etc...
@spiritualexcellence7 жыл бұрын
No, Talha, we cannot completely 'kill' the ego, or we will cease to exist upon this plane. The Prophet ﷺ continually sought to teach the middle path, the middle way. However, in the modern life, we are predominantly operating from ego-consciousness, very far from balance and the humility that is required upon the path Home. Anytime you find and feel resistance, struggle, stress and unhappiness, learn to relax and to surrender. One step at a time, thus we transcend the ego. By learning to surrender. By learning to love. To your divine and eternal success. www.spiritualexcellence.com.
