Love & Loss | A Comedy Short | Hayley Morris

A comedy short where Ellie attends her mother-in law's end of life celebration where things take an unhinged turn.
You may know me a little better for my V Hotel and Me Vs Brain, sketches which I really hope you've love as much as I've love making them. Don't worry those won't be going anywhere, I'll still be continuing to make those, but this year I wanted to try something a little new. Collaborating with talented artists in bringing to life some longer sketches. I really hope you enjoy what's to come this year.

Maybe a little, but I give him the grace of having just lost his mother and still being in the midst of mourning. She, on the other hand, couldn't wait to talk about it later and decided to make the funeral about herself and make a show of "walking out" only to stay and keep the attention on herself. I get her being annoyed at that line but she took it to a truly narcissistic low.

It's interesting to me that you read the ending as the human realisation of having fucked up, because my suspicious little mind just saw that as the next stage of her manipulation and gaslighting and pattern of behaviours to take back her (delusional?) feeling of control of the situation. This was an absolute delight! Well acted by everyone involved and well written. A little dark but very, very funny.
