You have captured Chicago from the train just like it was originally shot in Risky Business, thank you.

Thanks. I tried to match the style of the opening title sequence of the film (and of course the scene where this Tangerine Dream piece was used).

This song really is something else, isn't it? 😁 One of the best electronic songs for sure. Looking forwards to your next blog post! Huge fan of your work!

Is this taken directly from the film? If so, thanks. I remember being disappointed back in the 80s because the soundtrack had a different version from the film version.

Yes. This is from the actual film itself. ETA: To clarify, the source music audio is for the movie audio itself, but I edited and looped it so as to extend it to a decent length in order to make this video.

There is only ONE version that's worth listening to....and that's the film version. What makes the whole thing is that spark from the elevated train at the very end.

This is all filmed on the Chicago "El", which was also the setting (Chicago and north suburb of Winnetka) for the film "Risky Business".

Yeah, all Chicago and from the cab of an El Train. "El" trains are "elevated" trains, btw. The tracks are raised a story or two up above street level. The direct opposite of what New York City did with it's subway trains. As far as the music goes, you'll find extended, altered, hip-hopped, remixed, and otherwise mangled versions of this original track all over the place here on KZbin. But it's hard to find the original. I THINK the is the original version here, the music beginning at about 0:45. If you can find an original track, as you are hearing here, and if you treasure it as I do, hold it close. It might be very much harder to find as the years roll on.

@@lestatdelc So...being that I'm a Porsche fan and owner, I have to wonder if there wasn't a Porsche dealer up there where they shot the scene asking (when the bill was to be paid): "who is the U-Boat Commander?" Paraphrasing mine, of course. Still one of the great "foreign car" scenes in American film, another of which might be Ferris friend. The son of the Ferrari owner. The Porsche guy had better luck, while the Ferrari guy was left behind. :D Just as it should have been.
