Bought a '24 LE a couple months ago. It's kind of loud which I'm glad they saved weight on noise reduction. Great commuter car but not great MPG on interstate at 70 mph. It has all the creature comforts I would want. This car is the best deal on the market if you don't want to lose too much money investing in a depreciating asset and want a small money to noise converter to save at the pump. Best commuter car without a battery that will eventually need replaced. Dealership in Hagerstown, MD is offering to double Mitsubishi's powertrain warranty to 20 yr/ 200K miles so reliability is apparently a non-issue.

@g18886 From my understanding, the best way to get those 40mpg ratings is by driving consistently around 60mph on the interstate and highways while in first gear. Going higher than that usually puts the car around 20 - 30 something mpgs, depending on how much stop and go there is. So far, my car has had no reliability or any sort of performance issues in the year I've had it. I haven't really seen anyone else complain of any issues either on the MirageForums website so far, either. Which was a big selling point for me personally

I have a 2022 Mirage LE, drives and feels like econobox from the 90’s which good and bad all at the same time. I love the car’s simple mechanicals and utilitarian esthetic which is unseen in most modern vehicles. I have driven 3,000 miles so far since new. The Mitsubishi sacrificed a lot in the name of fuel economy and maintenance/production costs. There’s a tremendous amount road, wind, engine noise in the cabin from Mitsubishi attempting shed weight and production costs by putting very little noise insulation in the cabin. The Mitsubishi Mirage very sluggish and barely keeps up US highway traffic even in ideal road conditions. I live Metro Detroit, where speed limits are no more than mere suggestions. When I merge on I75, I94, I696, M59, M53, I have floor it and brace myself for dear life since traffic is moving 80 to 90 mph with 70mph speed limit. Once you exceed 80 mph the car is extremely sketchy to handle on freeways especially if you’re caught in a crosswind. With aggressive Michigan driving I get about 30 to 39 MPG. This car does not handle snow well, especially over 3 inches. Recommend keeping a shovel and bags of kitty litter in the back because you’re going get stuck more often than you like in deep snowfall on unplowed roads. With all this into account, this was built for specific purpose and it does fulfill that under ideal conditions. It’s affordable, reliable, efficient car that is cost effective to maintain and insure. Overall it’s one of the only affordable alternatives to a used vehicle left in US market. It has 4-Star Crash safety rating from NHTSA, so the car not dangerous as 90’s econobox. There’s 5 year, 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on it, which it can’t be beat. It’s a decent choice but it’s important to account for the compromises you will need to make.

So when everybody else is speeding and acting like savages on the highway you feel it's your obligation to do the same? Screw what other people are doing, drive your own way.

I love the fuel economy (55 mpg is average for my slow driving style) and reliability (85000 miles with zero defects, rattles and near zero oil consumption).

These made total sense to buy discounted under $11k with manual transmission. Losing the manual is so sad. Really helped give it a little oomph.

I have a 2022 mirage es I use it to commute daily about 50 miles a day total in speeds about 65mph. It speeds up just fine in Ds mode. I am not a light guy and i commute with a coworker about my size. Its a great car. Easy to park and drive. I did however switch to 15 inch 6.5 inch wide vision wheels and have yokohama avid ascend tires. The added tire width made the car handle alot better and much more precise around corners

One of the legitimate concerns is that the Mirage is a 'minicar' which has the highest accident mortality rates in the USA. To put into perspective, according to the IIHS the mirage is 5x as lethal as a Honda Cr-V... However, taking into consideration the larger average vehicle sizes and lengthy highway driving in the states, it is unfair to simply copy paste that statistic onto the Canadian market. The Mitsubishi mirage is much much safer than the safest cars in the 90s, and in regular city driving would still be sufficiently safe for its weight class.

Keep in mind that the overwhelming majority of cars on USA roads are bigger and heavier than the Mirage. This increases your chance of injury or death in an accident. In a country elsewhere that is dominated by similar small cars, the mortality rate is probably much lower.

I have a 2023 G4 (4 door sedan) I have no problem with it. Knowing it doesn’t have a lot of power, I drive accordingly. Gas mileage around town is 41 mpg. That is super. Due to the CVT transmission, at 60 miles per hour the rpm is only 2000. The only thing I wish it had a telescoping steering wheel.

I don't have one but I like it because it's the closest thing you can get to a road-legal gokart! Not enough power? Just throw it in the back of my truck, plenty of power there.

With this kind of car is speed really that important?? I mean are you going for economy or not? If your answer is no then yer lookin at the wrong car. I wanna use it for work doing deliveries. I want economy with a kickass warranty and low insurance costs. If I wanna go fast I go home park the work ride and get in my hotrod.

Look people miss the point for what the car is .. The Mirage is a car to get you to point A to B I for one don’t like it however I own one but I as presently surprised with it in a positive way you get a lot for your money the day of the economy car is dead no longer we have a New affordable car I agree for what I paid for the car I could have bought something used better and bigger and maybe more luxury but you don’t get the warranty you get with this car nor how economical is and let’s be realistic why are we so focused on the 0 to 60 times are we going to be drag racing honestly the car ample power.. My point is People need to be more understanding and less critical and more open minded and also make your OWN REVIEW and don’t just go for whatever people say .. Thank you Mr Mitsubishi

I have a 2018 Outlander Sport Se 2.4 AWC It will be 6 years old in January 2024 Here is a list of all the problems I have had in 6 years 0 Nothing Not even a light bulb I get between 32-35 mpg on the highway which is better then what it is rated for Is it a Lexus ? No Is it dependable ? Absolutely Just do the proper maintenance ( change CVT fluid every 30K and inline paper filter ) And you will have no problems Only people that don’t own a Mitsubishi hate on it Everyone that owns a Mitsubishi loves the car. It really is a great value for your money.
