As a dad of four daughters, I had to become both the fierce lion and the dad willing to get his toe nails painted lol. What had been considered a flaw of not being masculine enough for the world become my greatest asset as the father of girls and my wife was often the grounded adult in the room. Together we brought out new energies in each other and strengthened the energy that already gave us such strength. We sat and listened to this together and prayed for those finding their way in love. The rambling man in me would go on to say... I've been reflecting a lot lately on the harmony of masculine and feminine energies within each of us. I feel it's important to realize that we're a blend of both, born from a man and a woman, their DNA merging to create a unique individual. This union isn't just biological; it symbolizes how we carry both energies, making us whole and balanced beings. Just as the body is a larger percentage water than 'stuff', we are the cup and the water, the structure and the essence, all in one. Every person we meet and every relationship we engage in adds to our "cup" and enriches our "water." They become a part of us, shaping who we are and influencing our journey. It's like we're co-authoring the story of our lives with each interaction. Science even shows that our DNA can evolve during our lifetime through our experiences, a field known as epigenetics. So, we're not just static beings; we're continually growing and evolving. This idea reminds me of the yin-yang symbol, which represents how opposite forces are actually complementary and interconnected. It hints at the balance we should strive for within ourselves. Even Paul mentioned that man and woman are of the same body, and Jesus spoke of two becoming one flesh. These teachings emphasize unity and the seamless blending of energies. Too often, we try to divide these roles, seeing masculine and feminine as opposites rather than parts of a whole. But when we embrace a balance between them, we can support others from an empathetic place rather than from "across a divide." It allows us to connect more deeply, understanding that we're all part of the same tapestry of life. Isn't it incredible to think that whether we're on our own or in a relationship, we're always part of something bigger? We have the capacity to be complete within ourselves while also contributing to the collective whole. Recognizing this can help us foster more meaningful connections and personal growth.
