That distinction of the righteousness of Christ being in agreement with the law but not coming from it is the strongest closer

when you accept your identity in Christ, we are holy, blameless, and above reproach. this means that what god says about us is true and we no longer want to do what our old sinful nature wants us to do. the ten commandments were a set of laws designed for us when we were in the flesh and now He has written the ten commandments in our hearts (Romans 6). it is no longer a set of rules that we MUST follow to "make it" to heaven. its something that we naturally want to do. Praise the Lord that He has freed us from the law of guilt, shame, and condemnation!

Awesome truth

This is a truth that not many Adventists understand because of our extreme in Arminian thinking, that we loss salvation if we choose to sin. We cannot undo what Christ has done for us on the cross, but we sure can reject it. Jack Sequiera (The Two Adams) and Bill Liversidge (Victory in Jesus) have similar presentations.

I am confused, do u mean I cannot lose my salvation?

@@mediqponky Great question. Will God’s love for you change based on your actions? Would you “lose your salvation” if you reject what Christ has done for you?
@mediqponkyАй бұрын
@@andiroo42 well, as I understand, I must abide in Christ, that is, I just stay connected, based on John 15. So, if I disconnect, if you will, I cannot be his disciple, and a branch that is disconnected will not give fruit and will be taken our and burned, again, this is based on John 15. That being said, no the love of God doesn't change, but he respects my decision.

This is a flat out LIE!. The ten commandments could NEVER lose its glory. See Psalms 19:7. A perfect law could NEVER lose its glory. See also Prophets and Kings pg 625 paragraph 1.

12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. The principles of righteousness must be imparted unto us by the Lamb of Calvary himself. It is by this we travail over the power and grip of sin. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.21 But now the righteousness of God *apart from the law is revealed,* being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. Romans 3:20-22 NKJV Why do you think you can justify yourself before God by your own lawkeeping? Do you not understand you do not need to "clean" yourself up by your own behavioral modification before you can receive the justifying and sanctifying grace of Christ in faith that He can empower to *will and to do* unto His good pleasure? It saddens me that many do not recognize that the law was a tutor to lead us to Christ who through His imputed and imparted righteousness restores the image of God in man if they recognize their own unworthiness in themselves to cleanse themselves of the affliction of sin. The Law of God is unable to impute and impart righteousness to us that we are thus in harmony with its precepts-only in Christ can we have our the divine image of God restored.

@@heathersongbird Beautifully stated. It's sad many put the cart before the horse and realize that when God's law of love is written in the inner-man we naturally love to do His will and will not begrudgingly render loving service unto its fulfillment. However, if God's Law is merely seen to be the Ten Commandments-its about right behavior, right legal standing before God rather than understanding that this law was written at a time for the purpose of convicting the heart and writing the principles of righteous of Christ in the heart and mind. When we stipulate obedience to be of this law and not the laws of health, love, liberty, exertion, and worship-we fail in our regard in teaching what true obedience to the Law of Christ truly is.

@@caleschnell It's true we can only obey if we are surrendered to Christ but that doesn't make it true that that passage is NOT talking about the 10 commandments.
