Agree with your assessment! I've been saying this for years -- someone needs to create an RV park with all pull-throughs targeted at people needing a single overnight stay. I agree the amenities are not really needed (maybe the splash pad would be nice for kids to work off some restlessness after a long travel day). I think once it catches on the RVing public (and they adjust their prices) it will be a great thing and that park will be full.

I heard Love’s was developing campgrounds along with new fuelling stations, but I hadn’t seen any until today. Your videos are always informative. This one is no exception. Thanks for showing us around a Love’s RV Park. I whole heartedly agree future Love’s RV Parks could cut back on amenities and offer a lower price per night. Nice report, I'll have to keep that in mind. Being empty is a waste. They should drop the price to $30/nt to start a buzz about the rate, then raise it next year after everyone knows about it, or until they start filling up the park. Common sense.

If you’re ever in need of another overnight in this area of I75 in Georgia, check out Carroll’s sausage general store in Ashburn. Truly no frills, but gravel sites with water, power and sewer. No bathhouse or other amenities. It’s $40 per night and they give you a$10 voucher to use in the store. They have fresh meats, jams and jellies, cane syrup, seasonings and rubs, etc. No reservations, we’ve never seen more than 8-10 of their 20 or so sites taken. It can be loud since it is literally right off the interstate, but we’ve stopped there several times on the way to and from Florida.

Chad nailed it. Fewer amenities and lower prices. The pads are nice, but really close together. At $30/night I'd be planning my stops. $50? Meh? Since you were the only tenants, maybe Love's will get the hint. If I'm just spending the night, give me power and nothing else. Arrive, sleep, leave.

We recently had to travel on a "go day" in inclement weather week...ha ha. Got hung up on a closed road for 5 hours and couldn't find anywhere for an overnite, So turned around and went home. IMO that is what these type of places are ideal for, or long trips taking 3 or 4 days to destination for in between overnight. We would fuel, park hook up, turn on heat/ac, eat, watch t.v. sleep and leave early. $50 is not that bad, but when you don't use all the amenities that hurts. Our dog would approve though, she doesn't like truck stop parking lots😂 and that right there is worth it. Now I have to go look up Harvest Host, TDS and Open Roads fuel cards? Chad, years ago Pilot/Flying J signed a contract to partner with Good Sam Club and provide exclusive RV fuel discounts to Good Sam members. TSD is a trucking company who got discounts at Pilot based on the number of gallons their cards purchased each day/week/month. TSD started the RV program to increase their usage which increased their discount. As the RV program got more famous, Good Sam found out that RVers could get discounts at Pilot without a Good Sam membership contrary to what Good Sam had paid for in their contract with Pilot. Good Sam threatened to sue Pilot and Pilot kicked TSD off their discount program. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the Pilot/Good Sam contract comes up for renewal.

When i first heard about this, I thought it was a great idea. But I agree 100% with your conclusion, $50 is steep for a place we’d pop into just to spend the night. Love’s, lose the amenities and charge less. I think about $30 a night since it has full hookups would be reasonable. On our way back to FL, that would be a convenient last night stop since we could dump the tanks. We usually stay at GA exit 5. For a quick one night stopover, we wouldn’t use any of the amenities. Love’s, if you’re out there, add some easy access pull through pumps for longer gas Class A’s. When we’re towing our Jeep, many of the current Love’s gas pumps are tough to navigate. We use Flying J/Pilot since they’re the only ones that offer any discount on gas that I know of. It’s the only reason we have a Good Sam card. Used Loves when we had a TSD card.

@@vista39 this video was entirely about Loves having an RV park to stay overnight in so your recommendation of Bucees with the affirmation that they are "RV friendly" implies that you can stay there. I just wanted to clarify that that is not the case. In fact, since they are quick to eject anybody parked in their lot that is not actively spending money in their store, many would argue that they aren't "friendly" at all - RV or otherwise.
@ChangingLanes Жыл бұрын
True.. but they are not that RV friendly at the pumps as you have to navigate tons of cars and such to get to a pump. Not that easy when you're 65' long.
