My other favorite Hammers: Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde (1971) The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) Horror of Dracula (1958) The Mummy (1959) Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter (1974) But I think Countess Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde and The Vampire Lovers are my sentimental favorites. I love a #monstergirlboss. (I believe Juniper also loves Twins of Evil and Lust for a Vampire (both 1971) but I can't double check atm.) Basically if the main character is a girl we're both like, "Yes. That one. GIVE. * grabby hands *" The Corman-Poe Cycle: House of Usher (1960) The Pit and the Pendulum (1961) The Premature Burial (1962) Tales of Terror (1962) The Raven (1963) The Haunted Palace (1963) The Masque of the Red Death (1964) The Tomb of Ligeia (1964) Last year I went slightly mad during quarantine and watched like six of them over a day or two just to compare the Vincent Price performances. I regret nothing. 10/10 would recommend. Masque of the Red Death is my favorite but really, there isn't an unwatchable one in the lot.

Wow. I know I sound like a gushing, broken record but that was simply amazing. From the opening sounds of a churchbell ringing, conjuring images of a distant village overlooked by a gothic castle perched upon a mountainous peak, the audio pulls the listener into its atmospheric world. The talk of how its just a trick of the light which makes the servants "appear sinister". The talk of cannons and finding gunpowder from some unnamed war hinting at the heavy shroud of age and time which hangs over this manor and, of course, its two occupants. Its little touches and details like that which really help ground and flesh the world out around the story. So while I'm a little curious how the story sounded done "modern", I am oh so happy you went with the style you and Juniper did. The voice acting was phenomenal. Ingrid and Barbara both played well off of each other while offering their own distinct personality. Barbara coming across as the more worldly sister, slightly more at ease conversing with a mortal while Ingrid seems the ever so more excitable and more prone to slipping from their mortal guise. To the extent one exists of course. Both characters were wonderfully executed and with voices that fit their characters as well as fitting for them being Hammer vampires. A sort of quiet demure and reservation mixed with this sense of wit and boldness that speaks of decades, if not centuries, of experience. The sort of woman who can command a room just with her presence. And realizing the sisters were named for Ingrid Pitt and Barbara Steele...well that's just a cherry on top of that sundae. With shaving cream on top! xD I realize it likely was just coincidence but Ingrid suggesting a fox hunt makes me wonder if Ginger, even through the multi-verse, still holds a grudge against Clover. The story itself was marvelous. Not just the whole "two women pamper listener" aspect but I really enjoyed hearing about Ingrid and Barbara's backstory which really sounds like a penny dreadful I'd love to read. And I really found myself being drawn into the sisters' plight waiting to hear the listener's "answer". Again kudos to the voicework and atmosphere the two of you worked so hard to create.

I hope it isn't verboten to comment on older audios, but I just had to say something here because, as a HUGE fan of Hammer Horror and all things gothic, this audio speaks on a very deep level to my crimson bat-infested heart. Simply put: What a delight! You had me smiling from ear to ear as I listened, transfixed, envying this luckiest of listeners. I am (extremely) biased but as good as I'm sure the modern era audio would have been, I think the Gothic setting was a master-stroke, very clever and creative and so much fun, letting you take a really good script and make it truly your own, and be all the better for it. Thank you both so much for persevering through another take! Your partnership with Juniper Justice is truly something really special. You both sounded like you were having so much fun with this, and that's so infectious. You play off of each other so well, with real wit and sparkle, and have such excellent chemistry (although perhaps it would be more appropriate to call it alchemy, for this audio at least?) how could our intrepid listener possibly resist? Indeed, while I would never accuse reputable Audio-Artists such as yourselves as dabbling in the dark arts, something is definitely amiss, as you've certainly bewitched me.
