-Samsons hair was more a symbol of pact with God than power, although God in the Bible is the Supreme power so I see the connection of the theme -It is a funny case with Millia's hair, it being a beast is actually a mistranslation, in Japanese it is always only referred to as a spell (Named Angra, reference to the band for sure), however that spell was forbidden one and is also said that she had to pay the price for casting it, just like Zato. Price for power is a common theme in Guilty Gear, although for Assasins especially so. Thing is, the price for Millia's power was never really specified and Accent Core not being considered canon does not help -I never actually connected the dots of it being a scythe, great insight! -The fighting being manly has been highlighted a lot in First Guilty Gear, where she is one of four female characters present in the game, but with one being secret boss, other a biological weapon and final a child, only Millia's feminity is highlighted by characters in arcade mode characters win quotes against her. -Beautiful singing! -A theme I noticed in the passing of Millia in general but also during your breakdown is Perserverance. Despite odds, price to pay, the past, she keeps moving forward with her life, as you put it - Rebirth. Honestly your breakdown helped me appreciate this theme much more than before, as well as Millia as a character. It also makes me hope that when/if ABA, a femainine homunculus, comes into Strive we will get to hear this stronger vocal of Aisha's again. Looking forward to Must Die analysis, it is a banger to be sure :)

I think there could be a separation in the song between two parts of Millia's life after joining the guild. Up until the first chorus, the song talks about how she is trying to break free from her moral restraints against being a killer but she knows deep down there's no way. She sees herself as a monster because of her crimes. With all this in mind, she tries to leave the assassin life behind. Then, up until the second chorus, she tries to live as a "normal person" but finds this life lonely and boring, as there is nobody that can relate to her experiences outside the guild. She remembers how Zato swept her off her feet into that life of spilling blood for a living, though she couldn't fully adapt to that either. It becomes unbearable quickly and she sees herself as a letdown, both because she couldn't be happy her new life and because her only choice is to go back to being a killer, even though she loathes it. Her solution being to occupy a more administrative position, where she wouldn't be directly involved but would still be around people who had lives similar to hers.

I kinda see it as like, Millia started to reject life as an assassin due to how horrible Zato ended up becoming, and to her Zato pretty much represented that life. She tries to live among "normal people" for a while only to feel its not right for her. I think after the years abd with Zato's revival, she got to properly process his "death" as well as her own feelings in a way she was unable to before - it wasn't the assassin's guild she hated, it was Zato - Zato at his cruelest. But if she no longer lets herself be defined and tied down by those demons, she realizes that in truth, the life in the guild itself, and turning it into the best it can be, that is what she truly wants. Even if that's not "normal". In a way, her path is an inverse of Venom's too. Millia: an assassin at heart who tried to live as a normal person out of hatred for Zato. Venom: a normal person at heart who tried to live as an assassin out of love for Zato. It's kinda cool I think, if it felt a bit more deliberate...

The character of Happy Chaos is one of best characters i've seen in media and I'm trying my best to find philsophy on guilty gear, the creator hides his deep ideas within

what does it mean to live in present? Memento mori? To be one with the sub-human , and how you implement the higher human/planning nature in that?
