He doesn't. Men try to pollute the Word of God with lies. Some translations are better than others, but pick up a Hebrew Bible (with both testaments of course), if you went the closest to the original words of scriptures, which were naturally spoken in Hebrew. The NIV is my favorite, but that's just because I'm used to it, and it has helpful tools. Or, if you have the time and committment, learn Hebrew. That will certainly get you the original translation! :)

This is easily the best song in the movie and it's no surprise to me that it's the one song Andrew Rannells had. Basically, my point is, if you're going do a movie based on musical theatre, maybe use actors that specialize in it.

While I do agree with the sentiment the problem with that is the vast majority of the population are unfortunately not musical theatre fans. So when making a movie musical you kinda have to use big names in order to sell tickets/ get ratings. People aren't going to spend money/ tune in to a genre they don't necessarily like, to see actors they don't know in a movie they know nothing about. As much as it sucks you need the big names to make in order to continue to make the movie musicals.

I think this song is a sarcasm song for Christians. But as a Christian, I totally agree with the message this song is trying to deliver... What’s in this song is indeed what the Bible says and teaches me since I was a kid. It’s disappointing that many Christians are so judgemental, especially to point out someone else’s flaws. While in fact, the Bible does really say “love trumps them all”.
@Fireeater-rl4ep
@Fireeater-rl4ep 3 жыл бұрын
I do not seek to harass, only to gently instruct. Love your neighbor as yourself is NOT the greatest commandment. Jesus said the greatest commandment was: "Love the Lord your God with all heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." (Mk 12:30). The command our Lord was referring to is in the Law, as stated in Dt. 6:5. The SECOND greatest commandment is love your neighbor, but it should never be used in a bottle, to justify immorality or to love those who hate God. (See: 2 Chronicles 19:2) I understand why some Christians accept homosexuality. There is a big push for it from Hollywood, Washington D.C, and other elites, as well as the idea that "love is love". However, we also look at the past and hidden present of these groups and see how immoral they are, and how much they hate God. Greed, lust, adultery, lies, covetousness, oppression of the poor, arrogance, blasphemy and more all pervade the Elite groups, those same groups that advocate homosexuality. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is that we cannot define what is right and wrong by relying on our own feelings and opinions. We MUST look to the word of God to discover the truth. And what does the Bible say of homosexuality? Look for yourself in: Leviticus 18: 22 Leviticus 20: 13 Romans 1: 26-27 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 I was going to simply post the verses, but as Paul said in Romans 14:5: "Each one should be convinced in his own mind." Another problem with many homosexuals is that they are proud of it. They flaunt it, as if to say: "God, this is who I am, so you MUST accept me for it." Shall Man force God to comply with his ways? Never! Man must conform to God's ways, for His ways are perfect. "But [the blessed man's] delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night." Psalms 1:2

How far back in history are you looking to? Also I am not excusing what they've done but many of these individuals were pushed into blasphemy and adulatory simply because being gay would get themselves and their loved ones killed. Tell me how someone can love God when his believers constantly threaten their lives and reject them from society for something they cannot control? Again, not saying that this is right but I can understand why so many turn away, no one likes being where they are not wanted. I like to think about them as being members of their own religion, so long as they respect me and my opinions I will respect them. I may not agree with Buddhism but I have the greatest respect for them as a whole.

@@Fireeater-rl4ep That doesn’t logically make sense though? Usually sins are things that hurt yourself or other people. Plus the Bible has been changed quite a lot, and you can’t believe everything in the Bible, because people change it. The Bible isn’t exactly holy anymore. I mean they made Jesus white with blue eyes and blonde hair even though he looked nothing like that. God is part of the LGBTQ+ too to be honest. God loves everyone, but has no sexual desire or romantic desire. God is both a mother, and a father. God could be any gender and change it. God wants happiness for us, but doesn’t want the kind of happiness that’s bad for us and or for others. God is light, and watching you. Wants you to make your own choices. God made this land for us, and it use to be Beautiful, but now it’s ruined. It’s ruined because of people, you’re supposed to love everyone. Hate the sin not the sinner. Although being gay isn’t a sin. Actually it’s the best thing ever! No overpopulation, kids would most likely get adopted, and etc. Honestly In my opinion I think God wanted people with different sexualities and stuff to exist. Of course God made people gay or straight or even darker. Although we do make our own choices to be a good person, and that’s really all you need. Just be a good person. That honestly makes the most sense to me.

Okay, since I recently first heard this song, I took it upon myself to watch this scene and do some research, and as a Christian myself, I personally really like this!! The message is clear, we all have flaws, both Christians and the lgbtqa+ community, so we should still love them as if they’re just like us!! We’re all brothers and sisters in Christ after all!! So yeah! Love thy neighbor!! ❤🙏🏻 Edit: I just now remembered that Andrew voices one of my absolute favorite characters, Veneer! Its also quite ironic bc its kinda obvious that Veneer seems very ✨💅✨

Don’t worry I’m a Christian myself and i’m starting to open up as well, I’d say i’m still very firm in my belief in Christ but at the same time I truly believe Jesus would want us to love ALL without prejudice and judgement.

I like how they're not trying to be insulting towards the Christian community and instead suggest that 'Love Thy Neighbor' is the most important thing they should follow because they've all already sinned according to the bible. It did its best not to be offensive and as a bisexual Christian, I appreciate that.

Tbh a common thing in musical theatre is abstracting away stuff. Like, behind what's a song from the audience POV, there clearly is a lot more going on that just doesn't get narrated and is summarized or even just assumed to have happened through the song. Like, this song isn't just him saying exactly what he says in the song, the "actual narrative" is probably him actually making a more complex argument to some people who clearly aren't homophobic, just following what their parents tell them, and can thus be swayed by a good argument.
