My biggest tip for myself is to SLOW DOWN. Every single last one of my nail breaks has happened from me moving to erratically and quickly. Bump a nail and crack it, something slips from my hand and I break a nail, grab something wrong and there’s a crack, etc. Being mindful and slowing down has helped me reach longer and longer lengths.

I always snap off my middle and ring finger nail tips from opening the truck door because the door doesnt open easily. If Im mindful and take care I can avoid this every time so yes take your time and be mindful💗

My day is made every time Raquel posts a video :) My nails were super long, maybe slightly shorter than what your's are now but I cut them because its summer here in SA and I'm doing a lot of gardening. I've seen recently that some indie brands have an add-in that one can put into their acetone nail polish remover to make it more gentle and moisturizing. I work with my hands. When I do break a nail it's usually at work. I have been trying to be more mindful about the parts of my hands I am using to do certain tasks. I have also been trying to moisturize more often. Btw, I love your nails. Ive learned a lot from your videos!

I have to thank you b/c ever since I started putting on a coat of polish/top coat almost every day and painting the free-edges and behind the nails (as you recommend), I finally after all these years of my life, have FINALLY been able to make my polish stay on for a month, even using natural polish and not using any gels or LED lamps etc. I've been using Nailtural by Sensationail. It is 16-Free meaning it doesn't contain 16 of the worst chemicals normally in polish. I absolutely love when I use it with their base and top coat too. Together they work amazing. Funnily, but I guess it's logical, my nails grow way stronger, longer and faster now that I'm using more natural polish on my nails. It is also vegan and cruelty free and affordable. Highly recommend. If you don't have that brand in your country, I recommend finding a brand where you live that has those qualities. I really love protecting the animals AND my nails. : )

Two things I have to really think about with my long nails. 1 opening the car door, I dont know how many times I slip and either my nail brakes or bend. 2 washing dishes. I use glove but same as you I will at times bend my nails washing dishes. Over all I am careful and I never use my nail as tools. I also realize gell polish not good for my nails because I don't know why but I can have a regular polish manicure last 2week+. I know it would last longer then that, I just get bored with color so I will add a different color on top of my old color if I dont feel like doing a new manicure. But for some reason i cant get gel polish to last more then 2 days sometime I'll put it on in the morning but by dinner time I have a few that already popped off. Sometimes the gel polish takes the tip of my nail with it. So I learned gel polish is a no for me. Also find it relaxing to do my nail care routine while drinking my coffie every morning, it only take 10 min, but I got time. I put on a new coat of top coat straightener and use either a hydrating balm or oil on my cuticles I also use a vitamin c or double strength retinol repair serum, I take turns on using those. Then I end with hand cream. I litterly take care of my nails and hands like I do my face. But I enjoy it and its relaxing.

Hey nail twin!! Gloves, homemade garlic / tea tree/coconut oil front and back, keeping them polished, squoval or almond shaped, and my 3 layers of nail aid hardeners are my go to. I still use pure acetone since it removes polish quickly but I do wash my hands after and then oil them up! Thanks for all of your tips and your nails look beautiful 😍. My rambunctious dog is sometimes the culprit for a crack but I love her so much so I just repair it!

Moisturize multiple times daily. I make a point to oil and moisturize my cuticles and hands before bed. I sleep still so I don't rub off product like I do during the day. I use jojoba oil

Hola Raquel!! Love your channel!! So I took your advice and I purchased Nail Aid Gel Xtreme top coat ,it's thin and dries fast, I actually did a 1st coat of the Seche Vive gel top coat and to my surprise it did not shrink my nail polish!!! And I've been using the Nail Aid for week and half!!! And my nails look good still !! I could probably go a 3rd week if I'm careful!!! I usually don’t keep a mani/pedi no more than two weeks maximum. And I pick up or grab things by my knuckles or the fingerprint part of my hand. And I use a spoon, a knife, or something to open a can, to twist off a cap, etc.

Recently my thumb nail broke beyond repair . Like they were constantly breaking after using nail glue so that nail looked pretty bulky . I was so sad to cut them all off cause I was growing them for about 6 months ! 😭 back to square one but atleast they’ll grow back

The part i don't get is that, i ear a lot that i should put a coat of clear nail polish or base coat on my nails to protect them (not nails strenghteners because they can be conterintuitive)as leaving them naked can cause breakage. I also ear that you have to put oils (Jojoba, vitamin E etc...) on your nails to keep them moisturizer. But how will the oil reach the nail bead if of the nails are coated with polish??

The amount of years and exposures to water it would take to degrade the nail, your nails would be regrown many times over. So this should only be a concern to those with extreme length nails (think longer than 2 feet) The reason that soaking our nails is so “bad” is because we usually have our nails soaking in harsh chemicals like dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. lotion or oil helps with that, and nails can withstand it far better than skin. Peeling, brittleness or excessive flexibility all tend to be more influenced my diet more than anything. Many think they’re diet is balanced, but that’s usually not totally the case

Nail aid is great anyone of them will work good because they mainly have all the same ingredients in them i have many lol i also put garlic in my nail aid polishes and let them sit for 2 months before and using garlic helps my nails so much and plus im trying to stay natural when growing my nails so garlic in any base coat is the natural nail treatment to go with

Yes!👍I do that, too. The key like you said is to let the garlic sit in the polish for a while. Many tutorials on here do iy wrong as they use it right away. I like mine to get a rich, gold color before I use it. Makes my nails feel so strong.
