All that height must go to waste." And "You are way too tall for guys to actually like you. Guys like short girls." like what am is supposed to do ... constantly crouch down and risk breaking my back or getting scoliosis? I have had a bad habit of biting my nails and hangnails my entire life (my mom tried every trick in the book - didnt work) so i could NEVER get them to grow long unless i choked out the money for acrylics. When the fakes came off my nails had grown underneath but were so thin and flimsy, they broke or peeled off within a week. I watched this video the first time eary this year and after following it for only a month or two my nails not only grew our finally but they were stronger, easier to paint AND for the first time in my life my hands were not chopped to hell with hangnails. I picked up all the DIY stuff for the nail pens and always know where to find one. This video is one of if not my FAVORITE on this channel. THANK YOU!!!

Motivation to stop biting your nails (from someone who has been clean for over a month) - Imagine typing a text and sometimes hearing your nails tap against the screen (it feels so good NGL) - having space for nail art (that is, assuming your nails are like half a centimetre long like mine were) - imagine all the cool nail shapes you can try! - the compliments you'll get from from people who know you had nubs (Fyi, any gender can have long nails. I'm a guy and I'm growing out my nails to have cool stiletto nails, you can still have fierce nails even if you're not a woman!)

Note regarding oil: A substance that only sits on the surface (personally I like Aquaphor or Vaseline) can be very useful AFTER your apply a penetrating oil like jojoba. The oil that sits on the surface can't soak in, but it will trap in your natural oils (or the jojoba you applied right before!). I live in a really dry climate, and it's been a life saver, because the dry air and wind will strip all your oils right after you apply them.

But I bite my upper lip if I really really feel like biting. I know I’m starting one more habit but I haven’t bit my nails! I find that nail shape can make a difference too. I file my nails to a rounded shape and have found that they don't break as much as when I had the square shaped nail.

@julife.ka.38992 жыл бұрын
yes, but also i found a second thing, at least in my case. i try to grow them out square, that way when they break i can correct them to a round shape without loosing length. unfortunately, i like pointy styles such as stilleto, which lasts for a week at most... i'm growing them out for two months just to enjoy them for a single party or somthing. smh
@sparrowskeleton18312 жыл бұрын
Huh, my nails are naturally a square shape (with the exception of my thumbnails and index fingernails.) The corners of my nails are weak and always break when they’re too long. However, my thumbnails split when they grow to a certain length. Good thing they grow fast.

Dear Cristine, a few moths ago I finally stopped biting my nails after about 6 years of biting. They got extremely long and I got lots of compliments on them. Just after school started I asked my parents if I could get Roots sweater (because I wanted to be a sock like you), and I got the sweater! About a month ago When all of my nails were at their apex length, I was taking off my sock sweater and my nail ripped off. I filed all of the nails down on the hand of the broken nail and it was all good. Then tragedy struck again... I wore my sweater to school the next day (because it was chilly outside and I decided to give the $80 sweater another chance) and I was taking my sweater off again and one of the nails on the un-filed hand broke. I decided not to file the nails down and I only filed the broken one to keep it from snagging of things. And then, playing volleyball 2 weeks after the second break, my nail broke and now I am left with only 3 long nails left (people still compliment them though). I wore my Roots sweater many times after the incidents and it hasn't broken any nails since, so I don't know what I did to my sweater to make it so mad, but it must have been bad. Have a good day (or night) to anyone who takes the time to read my story, love you Cristine!

I came back to comment on this video that at first I wasn't super trusting of your advice, only because a lot of influencers try to promote products and life hacks that just don't work, but I decided to give it a go. I do have really thin weak ass nails so I have been using horse tail hardener but I am still applying oil as well! I've also been applying just the oil to my toe nails because they were pretty icky and raggedy. It does work!!! My finger nails are strong and healthy, and not snagging or chipping at all and I feel like I can work with my hands confidently and comfortable without worrying now about messing them up. My toes are looking cleaner, healthier and prettier, just overall these hacks are a life saver!

NAIL BITERS: Imma give you some advice about how to stop. I used to bite my nails so much and my parents would throw pillows at my head when I did it but I've stopped now so here's some tips 1) tell all your friends about how your trying to stop and if they see you do it ask them to stop you or hit your hand or something 2) file them, push your cuticles back and do a hella fancy nail art or just paint them a nice colour and get into the habit of taking care of them it will make you wanna stop 3) try to form a new habit that's not biting (tapping nails on table etc) 4)put a hair tie on your wrist and if you catch yourself nearly biting them flick the hair tie 5) honestly the nail polish that tastes bad works but it makes all your food taste bad that you touch with them tbh it never worked for me because I just took it off but if you have good self control try it 6) paint them with clear nail polish and make them shineeee 7) have self control and pray 8) take a before pic and then when u see progress take another pic and see the difference as inspiration 9) put on a lot of clear polish. Now, I'm not really sure if this is healthy for your nails, but I at all times wear a pretty thick coat of clear polish and it makes my nails harder and less prone to break 👍🏻

This is the cycle of my nails: 1:nub nails 2:dam it’s been a month why aren’t they long 3:oh there actually hella long ✨ 4:crap, my nail got broken a bit I’ll just file it off 5:oh you know what I give up I’m cutting them ALL off. 6:nub nails (and process repeats)

I have a similar scenario. Week 1. Super shorties, loving the feel of freshly cut, filed, and oiled shorties. Week 2: Dry cuticles out of control despite once a day oiling and nails growing well Week 3. Nails are getting longer...dry cuticles and hang nails are annoying Week 4. Cannot decide if I want square or oval nails. Cuticles still bad, but nice, long, razor-sharp, thin nails going on. Week 5. "Ouch!" I just sliced myself with my thin razors. Week 6. "Off you go! Wow, I really like the look and feel of freshly cut, filed, and oiled nails."

My cycle: 1. Nubs 2. Actually getting kinda long but one is a little longer so I bite it a bit shorter to match the rest. 3. Nail break and/or chip 4. Bite it off 5. The same thing happens to the other nails 6: repeat

I actually used these tips to prevent myself from peeling my nails (same as biting nails, except using the nails of another finger to peel at the nail). I don't really break my nails, but peeling them has been an issue of mine, usually something I end up doing when I get nervous. I've recently been doing a lot of nail art, even having just one hand done prevents me from peeling the nails of the other hand (since peeling the nails of one hand also damages the nails of the other). My nails aren't very long, I clip them short for my own convenience, but these tips really helped to prevent me from trying to damage my nails. I've very much reduced the amount of peeling I do by at least 10x. I only ever peel my nails when I either don't have nail polish on and/or I get very stressed.

2 years ago today we lost Cristine's middle nail May we take a moment of silence Ok now some kind words Cristines middle finger was a good nail, went through many polishes, creating it to become, yellow long and an epic cat scratcher. This nail unlike every other went through polish mountain. BUT HE WAS A SURVIVOR, until that dreaded day she remembered she had a face, whilst trying to move a desk we had the death of the middle finger REST IN PEACES x

This is really helpful! I just broke out of my habit of biting my nails after leaving them under acrylic nails for a couple weeks. Ive been biting my nails since I was very young so this is a huge confidence boost for me! I really want to take good care of them 😊

My nails went from crusty old lady toes to baby butt smooth in like 1 week. I overloaded the hell outta my nails with cuticle oil. I regret nothing.
