I don't even know where to begin, other than this is such an inspirational song! I am a recovered alcoholic, 10.5 years sober at the moment but I still have urges due to stress and illness within my immediate family. However, the words sung are words to remember because I definitely want to meet Jesus without whiskey on my breath! I was also just told tonight that my daughter has had horrible thoughts lately from genetic anxiety that she's had since birth, 17 years so at this moment, it's helping both of us! Thank you for your hard work on this song but know that it's sinking in for many of us folks! All I can say is have faith and take things one day at a time but call upon The Lord Savior, Jesus. Blessings and peace to all....

Recently been thrown across the country to live with my mom's family, without knowing that was where I was going when I got in the car. My mom looks me in the eye, crying, and tells me it's for my own good. Then she asks me to listen to this song. I'm a recovering 18 year old alcoholic and I've been clean for almost 3 months I've only had a single beer since I came here and considering everyone else around me here is either a binge drinker or worse off I am proud.

You guys are just do awesome. I lost a good friend.....and my sweetheart but December 2014 for drinking who died in his sleep. Diabetic and drinking is not a good thing to do but I miss him so much. I cry and cry everyday and night wish I could of said good bye but I wasn't there. In July his best friend is coming out and we will be going to see him together to say our love we had for him. We miss you Jason.

I think this song shows that we all should act like this is our last moments and how do we want God to see us,disobeying his commandments, not treating people the way we want to be treated. We all have come short of the glory of God,can we honestly say we do our best every day?

it is very rare I come across a new country group or song I really like cause I just can't connect with the lyrics and it usually has a missing twang and not 3/4 time but this song it really digs down deep. Whiskey was my kill and what nearly killed me so many times. In this world of drug addictions many forget whiskey is just as addictive as heroine, that rush you feel in your veins with it, the feeling, the numbness it brings, the false feeling of peace and security it gives and I tell you breaking that addiction is the hardest part. At one point I was so bad off I was constantly puking blood for 6 months before I was left homeless thankfully my brother gave me a place to live and I sobered up for 9 months then all it took was a few beer parties, a night with vodka next thing I knew I was giving everything to that bottle with a devil inside it. A lot happened during that time, losing a promising career I fought so hard for, some women who loved me to death, a truck, a home but in that time I stopped it all. I been clean since 2011 no booz of any kind, no dope cause it all leads me back to whiskey. My only battle left is with tobacco.

I woke up with a pounding head With a bottle laying in the bed There was a little, a little bit left So I picked it up and I killed the rest Oh I know I'm going to heaven But I can't go with me like this I need to pull myself together Before then No and I ain't afraid of dying But what scares me to death Is meeting Jesus With whiskey on my breath. I lost her and all my friends Broke all but one of my Lord's 10 But Jesus died for all my sins That's how I know I'm getting in Oh I know I'm going to heaven But I can't go with me like this I need to pull myself together Before then No and I ain't afraid of dying But what scares me to death Is meeting Jesus With whiskey on my breath Oh I know I'm going to heaven But I can't go with me like this I need to pull myself together Before then No and I ain't afraid of dying But what scares me to death Is meeting Jesus With whiskey on my breath Is meeting Jesus With whiskey on my breath

The part at (1:48) is what keeps me going. I know I'm not perfect and struggle like you, but I've put my faith in Him, confessed my sins, and asked for Him to save me. I have a peace I've never had before and know, "I'm getting in" because of my decision. John 3:16 and 1 John 5:13 reaffirm this. Hang in there and trust Him!
