This is the very first live performance after one and half year hiatus, that's why Asami cried "We are back" before start singing, caused by the departure of the former bassist Miho, hence this is the debut song for Fami.

Usually Asami (vocals) writes most of their lyrics and they are mainly uplifting. But Miho (bass) wrote the lyrics for this one and it has been mentioned that she had some dark times.

Ill be honest, never did I think I would be so affected by the lyric breakdown before. I always like trying to break them down and try to get an understanding from the writers perspective but after listening to this song, I stopped recording and was just down all day. Maybe it was a combination of how grand the concept was talking about the world as a whole and me feeling confronted with how I see the world through my own eyes also. The lyrics just hit on another level and I personally don't know If I could listen to this song again after feeling that way. It's a beautiful song but those lyrics for me are just next level of dark.

Though Miho did bring some harsher themes in her songs, she also brings a more subtle form of "release" with "open your eyes & see the truth" and "Bring down justice to the wicked". She also is possibly most eclectic in her composing, including "Don't Bite The Dust" and "Break The Wall" ... Her 'view' of humanity does not deny, but integrates our brutality. Asami is inclined toward giving account of life's challenges while also bringing more vivid and literal uplifting encouragement in a majority of her lyrics. @@dregeye Thank you for giving me some backstory on their creative writing and some song recommendations. We the united was such an uplifting and empowering song, from Asami's point of writing from my interpretation of what you wrote. This song felt like a complete 180 from that. This song made me fall into despair just like the lyrics convey. I can definitely see the differences in their styles of writing. Both songs are amazing in their own way. We the united helps uplift and empower you while this song forces you to confront what is the worst in human nature. I think if this song did anything for me, it made me sit down and reflect on who I am as a person and evaluate what I need to do better. It was an amazing song but she really hits you like a truck and put it as blunt as any song I'v ever listened to before.

As a human being, as a member of a society, as parent, & child. Also, as a musician ... guitarist, drummer, singer-songwriter, in creating music & writing lyrics that express 'my world view'. LOVEBITES is, as their first album title clearly states, is an "Awakening From Abyss" and I am inspired by their music each day since (Spring 2020). Their recognition of humanity's brutality is essential (imo) to 'paint' a complete 'picture' of life-on-Earth. Challenges must be faced honestly or no resolution can be realized. Personal-responsibility must be embraced and self-empowerment are integral to avoiding depression or despair. Finding a balance between these 'truths' is my goal, while 'treating others as I want to be treated' (from a non-religious perspective). I do find 'mutual respect' to be present in their 'themes'. Fami is such a bright light. It was a great choice that Asami, Miyako, Midori, and Haruna saw something in this young woman. When Miho left the band, and Lovebites went into hiatus, it was a low point for them. They honestly did not know their future. And then they did the bass auditions, and Fami, whom herself was contemplating her future and even considered quitting playing bass (I believe her thoughts went that far), entered their livres. With the marriage, it was as if it ignited both Fami and the original members to come back, and stronger than they ever were (individually and collectively). Nice reaction and analysis.

Yeah, Fami is smiling a lot. She's 20 and is playing her first show of this size as their new bassist. If I was 20 and playing bass for one of the best bands on the planet, I'd be smiling too. I'd still be smiling.

Yeah she's absolutely amazing and I love her positive energy. Its a good feeling seeing someone so happy living out their dream, you kind of get second-hand happiness from it. "WE ARE BAAAACK !!!" (Asami) 365 days ago (March 11th), this was LOVEBITES first performance with an audience (after almost 2 years hiatus due to Covid-19 and the departure of bassist and founding band leader Miho for personal reasons), and the first ever for new bassist Fami. They were happy to be back on stage and had unlimited new energy and enthusiasm. This mini tour lasted 2 days (one weekend) and resulted in a live album each ("Knockin' At Heaven's Gate" and "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate Part II") with 5/18 different songs and different bonus material.
