Wolfpack is here for LOVEBITES! You just went down a big rabbit hole! LoL! I have been into metal for a long time. When I found Lovebites, they went straight to my #1! For 25 years, my #1 was Symphony X. I never thought anyone would ever come close to them. Out of nowhere... comes five Japanese goddesses! It was GAME OVER. I know you will check out more of their music, so I won't even bother to recommend anything.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Lovebites is one of the best bands in Japan. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians,such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list). LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass,backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. Yes, those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Some people say that they are redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Miyako is also a concert level pianist. They performed at Wacken Open Air, Germany, in 2018 with great success; they toured Europe in 2018 and the UK in 2019 (with Dragonforce)

@@ChadTheDragonLord Which is also not necessarily bad, the problem is when an artist trying to substitute artistic ability with cuteness (and it never really works.) I think cuteness as a lure/draw has a place in metal when used properly. Lure them in with cuteness than surprise them with your heaviness always works, I would say. Check out: Hanabie "We love sweets" for an excellent example of this.

they have been on hiatus for a year looking for a new bassist and taking a much needed break. so in 5 years they have had 4 full length cd's , 4 ep's and at least 4 full length concert dvd's. so yeah i guess you could say they have been busy. and that speaks volumes for their productivity as they write all of their own music. you can get lost in LOVEBITES and amazed by every song you hear. no fillers from this band. from 1 epic song to the next. just as well there is no video for this song because all of their best work is done live

BAND-MAID (live version of "Clang"), Asterism (nearly every song), Unlucky Morpheus ("Knight of Sword"), and D_Drive ("Unknind Rain") have bass guitarists that do tapping at various times. It's not a difficult technique, but it's not the easiest sound to blend into a song.

@@reedactions I was confining myself to Japanese bands there, but Jinjer's bass guitarist Eugene does it in "Pisces." They're Ukrainian. One thing about the BAND-MAID recommendation is that it's not on every live version of "Clang," so I'll leave a link here. It's a fan cam, but the quality is good enough for a reaction video. IMO best metal band ever. You may not see that yet having only heard this first song, but once you dive deep, we're talking as good as or better than the greats like Metallica, Slayer, etc. And I say that being 62 and have been listening to metal since 1971 where the mighty Zeppelin pulled me into metal.

By all means try more Lovebites, A Frozen Serenade. If you want to see more bass solo's try Babymetal. Another Japanese band, Boh, the bass player, has some crazy solo's. Give Rondo of Nightmare a listen.
