Great double reaction ! The contrast of the 2 songs showcases the musical diversity of this band. "A Frozen Serenade" is an epic masterpiece ! Lovebites is not a religious band. There are religious symbolisms in the "Glory to the World" MV, but they are metaphorical. This song was released back in 2021 at the height of the pandemic and Asami (lead vocalist) mentioned in an interview that she wanted this track to be a gift of hope to humanity during extremely trying times.

They are phenomenal. So much talent in one band. Miyako (Dark haired guitarist/pianist) is a generational music talent. All the ladies are stars in their own right, but Miyako is mesmerizing to watch on many levels. Their entire catajog is amazing, not even an average track in the mix.

they are no religious band. video was shot in a famous tokyo wedding chappel, that is often used for videos for japanese bands. it was shot on 23th of decemeber, the director wanted just some solemn iconography. the second storyline with the guy was about "what, if he came back today?"

Frozen Serenade is a masterpiece, and belongs in a museum. Unbelievable. That’s Midori, the guitarist you mentioned you liked. Her nickname given to her by the band is “Crazy Shredder.” Glory to the World uses religious symbolism, but they’re not a religious band. The song was written to give hope during the pandemic. Glad you’re enjoying the band! Depending on what you’d like to see next I suggest Thunder Vengeance (live from 2020, a favorite of mine, show opener from 2020 and a little similar to Break the Wall, as it is also thrash), Soldier Stands Solitarily (their fastest song, and most technical), or maybe if you want a music video, try Stand and Deliver (it has a fun studio outtake section, and it’s from their newest full album).

First, i always wonder if Asami took that chorus line ("Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all") from Whitney Houston or George Benson who original wrote "The greatest love of all". To answer your main question, no, they're not a "Christian band", your crush Midori was just inspired (musically) by gospel singers she met in US churches. This song is dedicated to the fans during hard times (at the height of Covid-19 pandemic) as an uplifting song for hope and humanity to the world. The christian references are merely metaphorical, although that poor man's Orlando Bloom should probably play a Jesus figure.

Most religious people in Japan are Shinto, a nature based religion. Next comes Buddhism. Only 1% are Christian.

@LEO_IS_VIBINGG ...also Japanese culture in and of it's self is a big part of the problem for this, one thing about their culture is that higher value is placed on the older generation thus ALOT of the big decisions end up coming from them and their ideas even if the younger generation may have any better ideas, this is obviously not always the case, but it is how things do tend to go and A good portion of alot of companies in general in Japan are headed up by a bunch of boomers and gen Xers who are still stuck in the late 80s and early 90s which to be fair was a VERY difficult time for the country economically and times are different today, but like I said they are still stuck back in those days, thus it's on us fans to give that "little push" to show these suits that they are leaving money on the table

As a number of commentators have pointed Lovebites is not a religious or faith based band. This song however, with its heavy use of Christian mythology often confuses reactors.... especially American reactors who are pretty much indoctrinated from birth in Christian theology. Lovebites, in common with a great deal of modern Japanese art and culture, borrows a great deal from other cultures around the world. In their songs you'll hear references to Greek, Norse, Buddhist, Shinto and Christian mythology but it doesn't indicate any affiliation to any particular religion. The only time I've ever come across anything remotely attributable to their own personal religious beliefs was in a vlog posted by the dark haired guitarist Miyako when she, dressed beautifully in a kimono, left an offering and a prayer at a Shinto shrine. Even that is not necessarily indicative of religious conviction however. In Japan it is as much a matter of custom and tradition to pay homage to Shinto ceremony rather than a belief structure.

Some other Japanese bands for you to checkout: Galneryus - Angel Of Salvation If you like symphonic metal, this is the band for you. Hanabie (Ha-Na-Be-Eh) - Otaku Lovely Densetsu MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - Yoshu Fukushu A VERY influential band in Japan. The drummer from Band Maid, Akane, did not know girls were allowed to play rock drums until she saw Nao from MTH playing. TRiDENT - Kickass Wagakki Band - Senbonzakura (1,000 cherry blossoms) They play both western and traditional Japanese instruments. Gacharic Spin - Mindset Stereopony - Hitohira no Hanabira Unlucky Morpheus - CADAVER/REVADAC They play the first song, CADAVER, then play it backwards note for note, REVADAC. And they have a heavy metal violinist, Jill. DOLL$BOXX - Take My Chance Bridear - Light In The Dark Nemophila - Dissension Li-Sa-X Band - Looking Up To You Li-Sa-X is a legit child prodigy on guitar.
