Like your honest reaction, not afraid to tell it like it is for you. Several points though I respectfully disagree with you. 1. Not all live is better, and in this case for me personally, it will be very difficult for live to be better than this studio version. This song slams. 2. Not sure what you're listening to, but I hear Haruna on the drums loud and clear. Her beat is meant to be a driving force behind the strings, not a standout. The cymbals/china stand out. 3. You're obviously "stuck" on Lovebites live, and many people are. When I first got into Lovebites at the beginning of 2022, that's pretty much all I heard. 4. The mix is just fine for me. The album is spectacular, their best yet.

I bet it's their headphones. Besides I kinda known power metal were always recorded this way, guitars were the forefront of playing, because they emphasize solos over drums.

Thanks for the reaction. I have watched and listened to this song many times. The sound is good, including the drums. The only thing I can agree with you about is that the bass is deliberately made much louder than on all previous audio and video LOVEBITES. It was the first song with the new bassist Fami and the sound engineers wanted to emphasize ( highlight) Fami's playing in this way. To make the audience feel her bass better. MV "Judgement Day" is a kind of "presentation" of Fami as a new member of the band.

Their new song "Stand and Deliver" that just came out is awesome. It shows their fun side but holds nothing back either.

It's not a cover of the Adam & the Ants song from the 80's though, or is it?! 😄

I know they purposely increased the bass so people could hear Fami, but I never thought the drums or guitars were low in the mix. I was surprised to hear that.

Even if the reactors had high-quality and expensive studio headphones, it still makes no sense to talk about the features of the mix when listening to a recording with a fairly high level of compression. I can confidently say that all Lovebites studio and concert releases have very good sound quality. Lovebites recently released a blu-ray with all their ten music videos. And for the first time I got the opportunity to combine high-quality video with high-quality sound. A very high level and a completely different perception. By the way, Tarja also recently released a blu-ray with all her sixteen music videos. For which both Love bites and Tarja thank you very much.

Or maybe they have a bad tuning of their setups. It's their fault not on Lovebites side for sure.

Nice and objective reaction.. I agree with your comments about the mixing/mastering. Lovebites works with Finnish masterminds Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila on their album recording, it hasn't changed at all. I'm sure they know what they're aiming to do. I think they didn't particularly brighten the instruments to reinforce the dark atmosphere of the song. But at the end of the day, we have outstanding musicianship and instruments that unfortunately cannot be heard with the clarity they deserve. It's a fact that this song is quite complex. It is not catchy at first. The verse, bridge or chorus parts will not be individually tongue-tied. It's a complete composition revolving around a riff by synth strings. We'll see if it can become a classic in the Lovebites discography in the future..

It seems that other people have posted advice about headphones. I also think the headphone choice is worth thinking about. It seems that many reactors use standard headphones (for listening to music). Standard headphones (or speakers) are designed for "sounding good". That "comfortable sound" reflects the subjectivity of the developer. On the other hand, there are products in the field of "headphones (speakers) for monitoring". The purpose of this is not to output sound beautifully. It is a headphone that aims to output "as it is (for example, a dirty sound remains dirty)". I have always hoped that net reactor people would use this kind of headphones. Monitor headphones tend to be cheaper than general headphones (For reference: SONY's MDR series, which is used by about 90% of Japanese music/broadcast companies, is about $120) ------------ from Nippon *It is a sentence using Google translation. I hope I conveyed my intentions correctly.

I think you might need to invest in some different headphones. I've watched this video on my computer (both with and without headphones) and on my iPad (both with and without headphones) and the mix was just perfect. I've watched reaction videos for this song from many different reactors and no one else has criticized the mix. So I think it might be your headphones.

I think the music video Judgement Day is an audio visual masterpiece. Why say that a live performance would be better? What does a live performance have to do with this video? Probably, the reactors have a psychological peculiarity not to see the advantages, but to look for imaginary shortcomings.

I also prefer Lovebites live performances. Their music videos are great, but I do feel that the studio engineering takes away from the raw performance. Their latest video to drop, Stand and Deliver, is another one worth a reaction. It’s a bit different and even features Miyako taking a turn on the drum kit while Haruna briefly swaps off onto a guitar and the bass. A fun watch! Oh, and thanks for the shout out! Happy Trails!

@@boki1693In the beginning of the song bass was prominent even some baselines in here in there. Probably it's how it was recorded purposely on power metal genre which we know this was kinda thrash in a sense. Yeah hope they buy professional headphones ✌️

Hello from France: You seem to have playback quality problems due to your sound system (amp and/or headphones). And anyway, can we really judge the subtleties of a recording by listening to it either from the mp3 or the mp4? The decompression problems of these files do not allow to appreciate the details and the real levels between the different instruments. The "live" sounds being devoid of the possibilities of the studio pass more easily, because of their greater "simplicity", on formats of the type mentioned above. To make the difference, it is better to listen to CD, DVD or Blueray and on good hi-fi equipment...
