Even though everyone of these ladies are masters of their instruments, I've always said that it's their songwriting skills that put them above other bands. They are not your average Rock/Metal band by any means.

LOVEBITES - The Apocalypse lyrics: Blinded by a sudden glare Like a blaze in the underworld The red sky keeps on falling No one there left alive No one You have your back against the wall Run away to the underground That's the sign of a downfall Nothing can live here anymore 'Warning' Evolution changing of the world 'Warning' Everything burning up turn to ashes 'Warning, Warning' The end of the days are here There's no going back Call my name if you want to live in salvation Cuz the innocence we had will never ever be found Call my name if you want to die in tranquility I will give you everything that I have in return for your life Time passes at the speed of light People living in the underground Gone is the false paradise No one survives in the sun No one Life passes at the speed of light People hiding in the underground That's the sign of a downfall Nothing can shine lights on the ground 'Warning' Evolution changing of the world 'Warning' Everything burning up turn to ashes 'Warning, Warning' The end of the days are here There's no going back Call my name if you want to erase humanity Glory turned into a raging inferno overnight Call my name if you want to pray for deliverance I'll be there for you, protecting you till the judgement day comes The last standing man in the silhouette He's hiding his face in a masquerade All hope is concealed in the mystery He will whisper words of the evil, ah Call my name if you want to erase humanity Glory turned into a raging inferno overnight Call my name if you want to pray for deliverance I'll be there for you, protecting you till the judgement day comes Call my name if you want to live in salvation Cuz the innocence we had will never ever be found Call my name if you want to die in tranquility I will give you everything that I have in return for your life ----- lyrics: miho music: miho & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Awakening From Abyss 10-25-2017

LOVEBITES - Under The Red Sky lyrics: Rupture of the Heavens Blinding rays piercing through on a killing spree Looming in the distance, come the thundering roars of calamity Eerie bitter silence, from the whirling black smoke and insanity Time has stopped and frozen Held my breath with the death of humanity If somewhere God really exists How would He take our shame and great disgrace? Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget At the edge of this grey world Holding you tight Searching for a glimpse of hope that we can still believe in SOLO: midori / miyako Pounded by the black rain, while the world is engulfed in a bloody sea Stolen in a moment; everything, everyone lost to history If somewhere God really exists How would He take our shame and great disgrace? Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget But again I will find you And take your hand Cause I know, together we are stronger than this nightmare Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget At the edge of this grey world Holding you tight Searching for a glimpse of hope that we can still believe in Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget But again I will find you And take your hand Cause I know, together we will find a way to overcome SOLO: both / midori ----- lyrics: asami music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Battle Against Damnation EP 06/06/2018

Thank you for the great reaction and analysis ! You're pretty much spot on in terms of the "story" behind the 2 songs. IMHO, the way I see it is "The Apocalypse" (Part I) is when the bomb struck without warning, chaos ensued with nowhere to run or hide, and everybody at ground zero was totally lost and thought it was the end of the world. In "Under the Red Sky" (Part II), the dust had settled, the loss and confusion turned to trauma and despair, and then the glimpses of hope pushed back the hopelessness until a turning point when Japan went from ashes to become one of the most industrialized nations on Earth. The 3rd song which I presume you will do next is "Above the Black Sea". I'm not sure if the term "trilogy" is correct since the only common denominator among the 3 songs is that it's about WWII. This track pertains more to the diary of a Kamikaze pilot. If you want to hear prodigy and maestro Miyako play more Rachmaninoff - "Empty Daydream" LIVE : kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc . Here, she plays Rachmaninoff's "Moments Musicaux Op. 16 No.4 in E minor" as an intro to this song. Also, I highly recommend "Dystopia Symphony" audio track only : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYWueX6ph7Gtb9k . This is Miyako's homage to Beethoven during the time when he was coming to terms with his hearing loss. I believe you're beginning to realize how extremely talented and special this band is when it comes to highly complex compositions and arrangements. Keep it going, you're definitely one of the better and more intelligent reactors !

The true depth of LOVEBITES escapes most reactors who largely limit themselves their their musicianship brilliance. So THANK YOU for taking time and effort to delve deeper. The impact of LOVEBITES should become a course in music school curricula globally. I'll do my part to introduce them to Boston musical academia, including Berklee and the Boston Music Conservatory, etc. They are the true ambassadors of their craft ...and without doub, deserving of visiting or adjunct professorhips.

Just brilliant analysis and interpretation. I understand your explanation very well. As a matter of fact I was born in Hiroshima an year after the bomb. My parents were luckily not in the city. I'm glad with the way you see these "symphonies". I think Lovebites has a unique style plays like an orchestra playing a symphony, but not like symphonic metal. It is not just symphonic style but the composition has the structure of symphony. Anyway, you wrote a great review.

Thank you very much. I cannot imagine growing up in the aftermath of that. But then again, neither can I imagine a culture recovering from that as well as Japan has. After 9/11, which was just a fraction of what Japan has gone through, my country appears to have lost it's mind. Yet Japan has a Strong culture that appears to be rooted in love, humility, service, unity of purpose and several other fine virtues. I have, in my lifetime, watched you suffer major earthquakes, a devastating Tsunami, Fukushima and countless other calamities with purpose and dignity. The nation of Japan sets a very high bar for all the nations of the world. Thank you again for visiting and commenting.

Wow, sir, your analysis was just outstanding. In an interview in France, Miyako said that classical music and metal music have so much in common. “The apocalypse” is another excellent song but some kind of underrated. My next recommendation is “Above the Black Sea” (live, at Wacken, 2018)

WOW. this is truly the first no reactor has ever done what you just did and it was amazing, I could tell that you were intrigued so much you had to do your own investigation. As I have said before Miyako usually composes by incorporating classical elements into her songs with two main composers being her favorite Chopin and Rachmaninoff, those of us who listen to the classics heard them right off when we first heard the songs. It just doesn't get any better than this and for this specific reason they stand alone in the metal world, hence "The Lone Wolf" of metal, hence the Wolf Pack, not to brag but the fanbase name I came up with in 2017. The group has grown over the years and a lot has happened since, I no longer affiliate myself with the Wolf Pack and created many haters but don't care.

This was great! I agree with Guitarzen that most people praise them for how well they play their instruments, but where this band really takes it to the next level is their song writing. Miyako's classical influences really shines through in their songs, have to mention their song Dystopia Symphony - kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2mWo5mIe76rrrMsi=KkMnToE6aLCyrShu (sadly there is no video for this one, only audio). It's a tribute to Beethoven's struggles when he was loosing his hearing. Such a cool Metal symphony with a fantastic middle part! Another hidden gem not many people talk about is Today is the Day, there is a live video for this one - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKaknmewiaiHpJosi=hOsckx_AQZythrim Some of their songs do take a few listens to get everything that is going on, but once you do then you start understanding why the harsh transition, or key change, etc. It all makes sense musically with this band, from every small detail to the bigger meaning of the songs! 🤘🐺🤘

This is the deepest and most interesting analysis I've seen any reactor do for any song. Elizabeth Zharoff does deep dives into metal songs but focuses more on the technical side. You have really captured how the technical choices they made created the end result. This is one of their most glorious songs, and you actually enhanced our appreciation of it, thank you! Great review. A tiny correction. The 3rd movement of Rachmanoff 's Symphony No 2 was used in Eric Carmen's 'Never Gonna Fall In Love Again'. 'All By Myself' used the second movement of Rachmaninoff' 2nd Piano Concerto. If ir gets people listen to classical music it gets my seal of approval as well.

@@somewhere_on_earth00 Tokyo Dome (the huge indoor baseball stadium) is one of the main parts of a greater area also simply referred to as "Tokyo Dome" or "Tokyo Dome City". Tokyo Dome City Hall is at the other corner from the giant baseball stadium, but they are both part of the same complex. While it is true that in this case, the venue name wasn't specific enough, it was not entirely wrong.
