Thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan. Thanks for the link RC. When "Winds of Transylvania" was first released, a lot of people thought this song was impossible to be played LIVE because of it's really fast and complex riffs/licks. Well, "impossible" is not part of this band's vocabulary.

The earthquake was on the Sea of Japan side, not the Pacific Ocean side where the big cities like Tokyo and Osaka are located. People in those cities barely felt the earthquake. Also the tsunamis that materialized weren't nearly as high as originally forecast. Still, it was a very strong quake. None of the LB members are from the afflicted areas. Miyako was on the Sea of Japan coast (presumably on vacation) and had to evacuate because of the tsunami warning. (She wasn't necessarily near the quake's epicenter, because virtually the entire coastline on that side was subject to tsunami warning.)

I noticed the donation target amount was not very high indicating the country had most of the resources to respond. Still, By 8pm last night CST, there had been over 50 aftershocks at 4.2 or higher with most hovering around 5. I assumed that would be nerve wracking and have many people staying in shelters rather than their homes, so as a matter of course, I have put this link out on all videos I have posted today and tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

@@RockCandy-ix3nn The Japanese have a great deal of experience dealing with quakes, and they are one of the wealthiest nations on Earth, but I'm sure any donation will be appreciated. The aftershocks probably won't abate for the next few days. The Japanese have among the strictest building codes in the world, and if it was just about any other country probably the whole area would have been totally flattened. They are also quick in rebuilding-infrastructure etc will be rebuilt quickly. But emotional damage will take longer to heal.

I love 2 M but Midori impresses me more and more. She is truly phenomenal! That said Miyako is not to be outdone and I have seen videos where she performs classical works on the piano (Chopin, Liszt) in a masterful way. World class.

When the MV of this song came out I doubted they'd ever do it live. Boy was I wrong. When this live show was released over 2 years ago I learnt a lesson regarding this band. - Never, ever underestimate LOVEBITES. 🤘🤘🤘🤘

I have no issue saying Lovebites is the BEST (not just my favorite which they obviously are) metal band ever. No other band I have ever heard has not only a collection of elite level talent like this, but also the technical prowess shown in the compositions and performing which is second to none. We are in 2024, so Atlanta, I'm coming. I actually like the studio version/music video just a tad more, but simply amazing how they pull it off live.

This was mid-pandemic in 2021 so it was either play with a silent crowd (and also half capacity venue) or don't play at all. i'm glad they went ahead with the show! Also, in this show they played 6 songs never played live before, that was awesome!! 🤘🐺🤘 This song Winds of Transylvania was written specifically for an anime, There's also a music video for it!

It is an awful way for the people of Japan to start a new year but my prayers and hopes are with them. I don't understand why some don't like this concert if we are here for the band and not the audience. There it shows that some persons prefer to watch the audience interaction with the band itself, which is so hilarious. The heck with the audience and everyone who doesn't like this show.

Got a little ways into this one and realized that, dang, my volume was not set near high enough....fixed that!!🤣Seriously though, what a great song, and maybe your first time seeing Midori's 'Flying-V' style guitar performing all those 'dive bombs.' Love the transition from Asami's heartfelt comments to the launch right into Lovebites metal!! Happy to hear more from this concert even if you know the songs!

From the EP Glory, Glory to the World limited edition A DVD and limited edition B CD Lyrics:Asami Music:Asami and Mao Arrangement: LOVEBITES/Mao Glory, Glory to the World was released on CD in the UK on May 28, 2021 by JPU Records, followed by a vinyl release in the summer of 2021. Their version includes “Winds of Transylvania” as a bonus track. It was written to be the opening theme of the anime series Vlad Love. Asami and Mao composed this song because they heard that the staff of Vlad Love liked Thrash metal and Speed metal. Midori’s dive bombs stand out in this song. Miyako uses Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5” as a motif in the piano intro.
